Panning in Cubase

Oh boy. Well, if you're on Windows you use the "Print Screen" key somehow. You'll have to Google "Windows take screenshot" to find the exact answer. You have heard of Google yes? If you're on the Mac you just push Command-Shift-3, and a screenshot appears on your desktop as "Picture 1" (or 2 or 3, etc.).

When you click "Print Screen" in Windows, it copies an image of your screen to the clipboard. Open MS Paint, hit ctrl+v, and save it. Voila.

I think I figured it out. I think the headphone output from the audiobox is a mono output. There is no way to play anything through the audiobox and listen to it in stereo because the only output (the headphone jack) is strictly mono. Is that right, BLT? Was I dumb to think I could hear the tracks in stereo before I mixed them down and exported them? Is there any way to change that mono output to stereo? If not, I can live with it. But it would be nice to hear things in stereo while I continue to add tracks to a project.

From the picture of the back of the audiobox, the headphone jack looks stereo. in fact, if you paid more that $1.09 for it, it IS stereo.
The only thing I can think of is the output bus.

I agree with sign boy. That would be ridiculous to have a mono headphone out. The problem has to be the signal your music program is sending back to the audiobox.

So, I guess the good news is that there should be a way to make it work . . . the bad news is that I have to keep fighting with this thing. I had almost made my peace with a mono output. Here is my VST connections - outputs. It looks like my version is a bit different than yours, signboy??

naw, there's not much difference between cubase le & sx. In any case, it looks like you're set up for stereo out. hm.
well, there goes my idea. did you try turning it off and then back on again?

Uhh, cables anyone? Does whatever jack you're plugging work in stereo on other devices? Does the metal part of the jack have two colored stripes (stereo) or one (mono)?

Have you tried wiggling the jack (gently) and/or rotating the jack during playback to see if the stereo signal fuzzes in and out?

C'mon now people, eliminate the simple possibilities before disassembling the warp drive.

I did think of checking the cables. As far as I can tell, everything is stereo. I know I've used the headphones in stereo many times. I am using a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter to go into the audiobox, but it is stereo (two stripes).

if you're using a mono VST on the output (you probably are) then the whole output will be in mono.
