Johnson J Station

Post by ken »

Hey,

Did any of you buy this when it was cheap and popular? Are you no longer using it? May I have it? I need a box with spdif outputs and I think this would be a fun box to try out.

So, please pm me or something and lets talk.

Thanks!
Ken

Sorry Ken. Still using mine (albeit not for as many different applications as I used to). I believe Glenn and JB also bought them around the same time I got mine.

I have one, but I use it.

It's pretty cool, too. I remember posting a sample of a guitar lick and having Blue be all like "that's awesome what amp and mic did you use?" and him being all like "whaaaaaa? nooooooooo" when I said it was straight out of my J Station. :)

So good luck in your search!

I got one but I'm just getting into it. If things don't work out I'll let you know.

I bought mine when I still really didn't know anything about what I was doing (as opposed to now, when I just know very little about what I'm doing... ), but I still have yet to find any preamp or interface nearly as versatile, even in much higher price ranges.

Plus, it's rugged. The paint has been slowly chipping off mine, but everything else has stood up well against the test of time. Bought for $99 in 2003; still going strong in mid-2009 in spite of some absolutely punishing treatment through about ten moves and lots of lugging around to practices and live shows...

(Sorry Ken, now I'm making it harder for you to convince people to part with their J-Stations... :P I bet you could work some miracles if you got your hands on one, though. )

Thanks guys. I'm actually really happy to hear you are still using yours. I just thought someone might have moved on to a real amp or something and cut me a deal. No worries.
