VST in Reaper
I just bought a new recording computer (with vista ... *sigh*), and reaper won't recognize the same plugins that I've been using with it all along on XP. It asks me where to search for vst plugins, I tell it where to look, and it doesn't find anything. Has anybody else had this problem? It's really pissing me off.

Re: VST in Reaper
Might be a really silly question, but since this is a new computer, did you install all your VST's?

Re: VST in Reaper
How did you do it on your old computer?
Are you talking about Reaper's built-in VSTs, or 3rd party ones?

Re: VST in Reaper
Reaper has its own plugin format, so the latter.

Third party - most notably

Classic Compressor
Shouldn't this be really easy? Like ... put the dll files in a folder, and direct reaper to that folder in the vst section of preferences? Because that's what I did and reaper's just being a little bitch.
EDIT: I pretty much fixed this. It's still not compatible with any of my non-free effects, but all the freebies are working now. Hooray!

Re: VST in Reaper
I've never had any of these kinds of troubles.
Then again, I've never run it on a computer with Vista installed.

Re: VST in Reaper
I had installed the Windows x64 version, and apparently my computer isn't compatible with that, so I uninstalled it, reinstalled reaper using the standard Windows version, and lo and behold, my VSTs work. So no, I'm not a computer genius, I just don't know what my computer's capable of.jb wrote:Please tell us how you fixed this, so this thread will be useful to someone else in the future.Reïst wrote:Third party - most notably

Re: VST in Reaper
If it wasn't, you wouldn't be able to run it in the first place. The point is that the VST's were 32 bit and that just don't fly in a 64 bit application.Reïst wrote:I had installed the Windows x64 version, and apparently my computer isn't compatible with that
