I wrote the music for this short film - now on Youtube

Post by Ross »

Now on youtube - "The Rebourne Identity" - I wrote the music for this short film spoof of the Bourne films, an award winner at the Pomono film festival. Take 8 minutes to watch - pump up our view count - and hear me rap over the closing credits :-)

Give it a good rating if you like it - or even if you don't :-)

I bow before you. Awesome job, Ross, all the way through. This was hilarious. I love the elevator scene..."I'm too dangerous to love" :)

Actually, I thought the funniest part in the whole video was near the end of your rap, when you say "Was this wide open for a sequel or what?"

All in all, I guess I just didn't get it. But your music was great. If Frontalittle Squad ever comes back, we'll have to invite "MC Ro-D." :P

Yeah yeah yeah, but I was confused about the part where he hits the ground, dies, and comes back as a cow. And then his consciousness gets imbued into the kid who eats the hamburger made from said cow? That's... uh... that's not how it works, right?

Plus, the running around part could have been half as long without taking away from the main joke, which really only comes into play during the last ninety seconds or so. So I spent six minutes thinking "Hey, Ross' music is really cool, but where is this going? Wasn't this supposed to be a parody?"

...But hey, Ross' music is really cool!

Although I never aksed, I always got the impression taht was a key part of teh gag. There are also all tehse other mini gags strung in between - like how silly would it be for Jason Bourne to hide in a dumpster, the corgi's, the "ominous" sunglasses guy, the elevator, etc.....

I do recall him saying - hey I got another project would you like to do music, I was like "sure" - then he sent me the first rough cut and I was like "Crap - this thing is seven minutes of solid music"
Fun challenge.

See, to me, that's when I was satisfied. I kept waiting for the title of the movie to show itself. For some reason, I kept thinking it was going to be some religious message about reborn Christians or something. But then when the kid spoke German, I was like........

AND then I became very hungry for IN & OUT burgers. (that was the Cali burger chain portrayed, for you non Cali folks)

ROSS! That was some good scoring, my friend! I love the music!
