Re: Hear ye! Hear ye! Ring Them Bells Reviews
Wow.
The top 3 were picked in the same order that I would have ranked them. Didn't get a chance to post before, but I certainly listened to all of the entries. So, a few quick comments on the ones that stuck in my head...
MC Milk Plus
Top 40 Solid Gold. I mean, really, it just doesn't get much better than this. As someone else noted, I don't even like rap. But this...this is good. The lyrics, rhythmic cadences, and hooks galore are all fantastic. Just the right production, too. The vocals sit right where they should for this style with just the right compression (i.e., a lot). This is the only one I downloaded (and played and played and played...).
Boltoph
Oh my, don't you just have an awesome voice? Great production, too. The acoustic guitar is recorded quite nicely. Goes from sunny-ish to Gothic; having read your description, well, it seems just about perfect. Any other week, I would have voted for you.
See, I only give away one vote -which went to MC Milk Plus at around Wednesday at midnight. If I had awarded one to you and BSS, there would be a tie. What happens then, SFBB monitor?
BSS
Oh yeah. Some nice, light, breezy goodness. The breakdown in the middle is sublime; love the little video-game guitar during this part. The rhythm guitar, of course, has the most powerful wimpy tone known to man. I like the singer's voice, but I do wish there was more processing on it. Like Madonna, or something.
Naked Philosophy
What if R.E.M. decided they wanted to write a metal song? It wouldn't exactly be metal, but it'd still be very compelling. Like it.
Paco del Stinko
Everyone keeps saying Johnny Cash. No, no, no. This is the Duke. That's right, you channeled John Wayne for a nice bit of gruff and whimsical goodness. Nice.
That's all I've got. It's been too long- those are just the ones I remembered.
Wish I had been able to finish. The past two weeks in a row I've gotten songs started only to be unable to complete them in time. I suppose that's part of the challenge/charm/fun, though. Right?

I'd like to thank Signboy as well as the people who voted as my collab got 8 votes which is officially the most votes I've ever received, beating the previous best of 7 with Iron Goddess of Mercy with Posyden as Destruction Enterprise. :d
From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style.

It makes me laugh that MC milk plus has won. Has the comedy series Nathan Barley been shown in the US? Here's a link.

Rap starts about 2 minutes in.
Uncannily similar.

And I didn't take credit for all of them either did I? I'm pretty sure I thanked Signboy for the collab.
He made me sound good! Well, better.

I was just responding to "Rone got more votes than me", when in fact it was Signboy and Rone who got more votes than him. Together. I wouldn't even try to divide it up and figure who was responsible for how many votes.
