Re: Nur Ein! V - Round 1
Well, this is going to be interesting... I just cut my left pointer finger. Pretty deep. Not stitches deep, but enough to hamper any possible guitar playing...
So, probably no guit from me on this one. Nur Ein is all about challenging yourself, right?
Right.
Stupid hankering for a salad.
Update: So this is why they invented open tunings...

Yes I can. And I have, by golly.frankie big face wrote:You can write a better song than that.Caravan Ray wrote: WTF?!?!?! "Stranded"! What will next week's be? New York, New York? Hey Jude?
There is absolutely no reason for another song to be written with the title "Stranded". This one been around for roughly 34 years and is one of the greatest songs ever written.

Re: Nur Ein! V - Round 1
Well, my entry is largely written. Currently, the title is only implied, which I know is usually fine, but I worry it might be implied too vaguely, so now I'm revising the lyrics.
I just barely made the deadline last week. Looking to avoid that rush again, though things never seem to quite work out that way, do they?

Re: Nur Ein! V - Round 1
I've written three for this one, but I'm struggling to decide which one's best. Hopefully I can get it recorded by tomorrow - I have pretty much zero time for music on sunday.

24 bars in, and I don't know if I have a real song yet. The next several hours will dictate whether I submit it meekly and hope nobody notices, or stand on the mountain peak with bare chest thrust forward, yodeling.

I've written about three-fifths of a song. Now I'm deciding if I should record it or just literally shoot myself in the foot and be done with it.

Re: Nur Ein! V - Round 1
Well, FWIW, I wrote two songs for this fight. The first had a neat idea that turned out to lack a hook and great concept at the center. The second one I literally woke up singing on Friday morning. The cats were hungry anyway, so I jumped out of bed and scribbled down as many half-remembered dream-induced lyrics as I could before they faded into the ether. I then proceeded to spend something like 3 hours working on parts for the wrong BPM. Once I got it fast enough, it all went swimmingly.
Anywho, song is sent as of two seconds ago. I'm feeling much better about this round than I was 48 hours ago.

Re: Nur Ein! V - Round 1
My song appears to be 2:58 in length, possibly a new record for short-attention-span me, and possibly the slowest-tempo song I've ever recorded. Of course, it has no vocals yet, and I have absolutely no idea how the lyrics are going to fit into it...but I'll definitely have something to submit, and I'm in love with the drum fills -- so long as I don't compare them to Thermin's.
