Who Said I'm Dead
Well, boys, I read the news today
They finally rounded up the one that got away
But they didn't bring him in alive for all to see
And I can't say as I saw the photograph
But all the same, I had to laugh
Because the one they said they rounded up was me.
Some say I'm a genius, and that's awful kind
But you don't have to be an evil mastermind
To get that when you're dead, you're the last to know
And since I'm reading the news today
I'd have to conclude that I must be OK
Or if I'm dead and gone, I failed to go.
Who says I'm dead?
Who says I'm gone?
My friends are all rowing away from the grave
And they're wiping their tears and they're hoping I'm saved
And I wish I could explain what's going on
But they'll just have to read their Good Books and pray
And when we all get together on Judgement Day
Well, I guess we'll all be dead and gone.
Who says I'm dead?
Who says I'm gone?
They say they got more virgins in Heaven
Than cans of Coke at a 7-Eleven
But so far I aint seen one, best I can tell.
All I got's an old TV set
And a Third World connection to the Internet
And I guess by some definitions that could be Hell.
Who says I'm dead?
Who says I'm gone?
They finally rounded up the one that got away
But they didn't bring him in alive for all to see
And I can't say as I saw the photograph
But all the same, I had to laugh

Re: Who Said I'm Dead
Quicksand yellow
Short steps shallow
Sometimes I hide
Where time does not turn
Who said I'm dead?
Gone missing - misled
Your reality it's so easy to see
Doesn't leave much room for me
Who said I lied?
I never said goodbye
Bury me where they congregate
Under a black sea, I live
Who said I'm dead?
Gone missing - misled
My reality, it so definitely
Doesn't leave room for fear
Short steps shallow
Sometimes I hide
Where time does not turn
Who said I'm dead?
Gone missing - misled
Your reality it's so easy to see
Doesn't leave much room for me
Who said I lied?
I never said goodbye
Bury me where they congregate
Under a black sea, I live
Who said I'm dead?
Gone missing - misled

Doesn't leave room for fear

Re: Who Said I'm Dead
how could I forget
the power
of a flower
how could I forget
the wonder
of the thunder
who said I'm dead
i'm not done yet
running on
the one way of wonder
blinded by
the chase for power
selling my days
for a little money
hoping I'll buy myself
a better story
how could I forget
the fire
of desire
how could I forget
the river
of fever
how could I forget
the torture
of closure
who said I'm gone
who said I'm dead
who said I'm off
I'm not done yet
how could I forget
who said I'm dead
the power
of a flower
how could I forget
the wonder
of the thunder
who said I'm dead
i'm not done yet
running on
the one way of wonder
blinded by
the chase for power
selling my days

how could I forget
the fire
of desire
how could I forget
the river
of fever
how could I forget

who said I'm dead
who said I'm off
I'm not done yet
how could I forget
who said I'm dead

Re: Who Said I'm Dead
Hello you
You're not my enemy
You never knew me
like you thought you did
But you got me pegged
with my Autobiography
just like you said,
"baby off with her head"
I write in my song
so you s'pose you know
while my heart is breaking
just how it goes
'Cuz you rule the school
with your fingers and pies and your cruelty
you'd know just how those heads would roll
And you didn't keep a diary that night
You think you'll move on
-bet you think I died
just to be resurrected
and come back to bed ..
and you left it so cold
it looks just like our life...
Yes, the one you thought I'd left behind
So, raise your glass up my friend
'cuz who said I'm dead?
Yeah, I just said goodbye
I swore to the sky
-it won't happen again
I'd be my own end and beginning
Well, hell yeah I bet, if you knew the rest
you'd laugh through your hands at how I failed the test
And you didn't keep a diary that night
You think you'll move on
-bet you think I died
just to be resurrected
and come back to a bed ..
that you left so cold
it looks just like our life...
Yes, the one you thought I left behind
So, raise up your glass my friend ...
the ghosts don't die
BR
Yeah but I knew all along
I'd take a risk
if there was a risk there to take
read my lips. read my mind
ain't about you this time
when I leave something behind
…it's not
just replaced / with the next
thing I find
Men look to queens
like a bitch looks to lies
and they'll hear only songs
as she spreads out her thighs
But I believe in the life I have led
and the choices that save me from slander and dread
All you cowards that cant see the forest for gold and for bread
Well…
who said I'm dead?
who said I'm dead?
… who said..?

Re: Who Said I'm Dead
WHO SAID I'M DEAD
King Arthur
(this is from the lyric file I was singing from, should be close)
Who said I'm dead?
What guy told you that lie?
I can guarantee that it wasn't me -
Who said I'm dead?
Doesn't seem like it was that long ago
We were breaking bread on the penthouse floor
We were drinkin' wine from a water cup
We we shakin' the trees 'til the cops showed up
And they hung me out, but that's okay,
That stone has been rolled away
(chorus)
Back in the sixties with the LSD
All the rock stars sayin' they were bigger than me
And then Time Magazine went and got it all wrong
Tellin' everybody that I was gone
The media said it, so it must be true
Pay no attention to what I'm telling you...
(chorus)
Let me explain this as clear as I can
What part of eternal do you not understand?
(chorus a time or six)

Re: Who Said I'm Dead
The Panna Cotta Army
I'm not pushing up the daisies
I'm just lying in my bed
I've not gone to meet my maker
So who said I'm dead?
Every day I'm hauling that sack
They all watch me breaking my back
They're just praying a heart attack
Is going to get me
Chopping wood and shovelling coal
What a thankless rigmarole
But the devil won't get my soul
Until I'm history
I'm not pushing up the daisies
I'm just lying in my bed
I've not gone to meet my maker
So who said I'm dead?
I'm not pushing up the daisies
I've not kicked the bucket yet
I've not gone to meet my maker
So who said I'm dead?
Beaking all them rocks and stones
All you get is aching bones
When they hear them creaks and groans
They think I'm fading
But my hearts not ready to stop
I don't need that cemetery plot
So until I finally drop
I'll keep them waiting
I'm not pushing up the daisies
I'm just trying to rest my head
I've not gone to meet my maker
So who said I'm dead?
I'm not pushing up the daisies
I've not given up the ghost
I've not gone to meet my maker
So who said I'm toast?
I'm not pushing up the daisies
I'm just lying in my bed
I've not gone to meet my maker
So who said I'm dead?
Every day I'm hauling that sack
They all watch me breaking my back
They're just praying a heart attack

Who said I'm dead boi, I'm livin it up
I got a hole in my stomach and a I feel old as fuck
but I'm still breathin even though my debt keeps buildin up
who said I'm dead boi I'm livin it up!
I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees
id rather struggle for the truth than live a lie with ease
im always dodgin debris and you can call it a knack
for takin two steps foward and one step back
i aint got time to react, thats why im on the attack
I'm movin too fast and I wont drop my guard
cause I slip up now i might fall too hard
but i keep my vocal calisthenics inexplicably phonetic
and i got so many styles call me a music schizophrenic
and I ain't a hesitater I'm a verbal alligator
My flows unsafe at any speed-- somebody call
RALPH NADER!

Re: Who Said I'm Dead
Berkeley Social Scene
You saw it on the news
Flipping through the channels
It didn’t really register (hit you / sink in)
until a little later
is that really what they said?
They all thought that you were dead.
So sad to hear you’re passing
it’s a shame you are going away
if I’d known I’d have thrown a party
send a little love your way
After jumping to conclusions
only left one solution
trace it back to the source
give the past a voice
Is that accurate and true?
What are we going to do?
So sad to hear you’re passing
it’s a shame you are going away
if I’d known I’d have thrown you a party
send a little love your way
the end is another beginning
you fall away then rise up spinning
moving into realms uncharted
far away from the broken hearted
All the wonders you will see
in the fringes of eternity.

Re: Who Said I'm Dead
(Don't have it mastered, but this does have music. I just literally slept through the final day of turn ins...)
Fingers falling off as I play this lil' ditty/
Taste for brains & thirst for blood has me roamin' the city/
Dodgin' bullets as I dance a shuffle two-step/
A happy-go-lucky zombie with a touch of moxie & pep/
(Chorus)
Who said I'm dead, 'cause I'm not, I'm a zombie/
Reanimation puts the "un" in funny/
So do a lil' dance with your undead buddy/
Your neighborhood "Chew your bones with A-1" zombie/
My tale of woe is not nearly as bad as it could be/
In looking for a cure the undead curse was brought on me/
But don't be sad or a grumpy Gus/
'Cause biting through your tough skull is my only fuss/
(Chorus)
Don't worry 'bout your taste cause I'll cook you fully through/
Unlike my undead brethren, I find rare meat hard to chew/
Either topping a nice salad or in a hearty stew/
I never miss ya quite as much when nibbling on you/
(Chorus 2x)
