Did anyone get good audio of the livefight? For once I didn't royally screw mine up.

Next time, stop posting on the forums for a couple hours so you can come out and play!

Also, retrospective lol:
Lunkhead wrote:It doesn't have to be done (or even started for that matter) when you show up. You could improvise something even, but you'd probably get heckled. You might want to at least finish it before the live fight starts, which is typically a couple hours before the closing time of the Sunday night show.
If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

Awww my first win has a crappy recording, maybe I'll have time when I get home to do a quick recording

(edit 1) P.s. If you wanna win offer pot, but be prepared for the wrath when you can't deliver... Lol

Well, I guess I can't participate in the optional challenge, but I can probably bang out a studio version tonight without too much trouble.

Yeah, in my case I took the challenge to mean I recorded the guitar and vocals together in a single take with no editing. I also added a second guitar and some backing vocals and held those to the same rule.

I took the optional challenge to be optional and did a studio song. Had quite a time getting it recorded and have mixed feelings about how it came out, but I've been listening to some old "KA songs I decided not to submit and then later wished I had" lately, so here you go.

Went ahead and submitted my "Island of the Renault Dauphines" cover art, too, tho' I figure somebody will be doing something SFL related...

Just out of curiosity, how did the SFL recordings come out? If the best we got was somebody's camera audio, I wouldn't object to extending the deadline a few days to give people time to re-record their songs...

They didn't, unfortunately. Nobody brought recording gear, and I only got the first two and a half songs on my camera in movie mode.

So no one got the whole thing on video? I would kill to see it on Youtube or something...and I'm in with a hastily thrown together and random song. And if live recording can encompass whiny teenagers and continuosly meowing cats in the beginning stages of laryngitis (still surprisingly loud) while Family Guy is blasting in the background (I was too lazy to move my laptop/gear into the bedroom this week), then I guess I did a live recording

Damn. I'm sad that no one got a good recording. I really liked my song, and I am too exhausted to try to re-record it tonight. Maybe I'll work up a proper studio version this weekend just for posterity's sake.
