Did he write a song about that little hippopoptopomous too? sheesh... Is there anything Ross CAN'T write about?!?!?!?!Billy's Little Trip wrote: Some people call him Maurice, you know why Jon? Cause he speaks of the pompitous of love.

EggNogAdam - Ha. After reading "meta" twice I had to relisten to the song in order to get it. I love to entertain myself and I think I did that. (I hope I get 3 votes)
DuTova - your voice sounds like one of the 311 singers! score! I admit to not liking the song until about 1/3 through. (at the time I had to be really quiet to not awaken the 1-month-old-of-death and I think this biased me. sorry)
Scott Gesser - I like the opening. Wait... are you sing/humming backgrou.... WAIT... is that 'a capella?' HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! WORTH IT!
Steve Durand - Clean sound. I like it. Man, that could use some static or white noise or something to make it sound like a 78. I like it. My grandfather would too. I almost did a song about a wagon circle. I'm glad I didn't because you rocked that genre just now.
DJ Ranger Den - I love painting and this song reminds me of a sweet one I saw at the Met last summer. I can't remember the name/artist, but that doesn't detract from the memory at all. Good job!
Juliett Echo - Guitar. Quality. ...HOLY SHHHIT!! I wrote "circle me, square you, we function together" before I erased my lyrics and went "meta." JESUS .... I just freaked myself out.....
Again, I'm glad I didn't finish with this genre because you would have divided me in half. Or devoured me whole. Whatever.
McCalum - GOOGLE PLUS! HAHAHAHAHAHA! I am no longer freaked out by the Echo song.
I like your concept here. Can you write one about the Credit Score Dot Com ?
Kapitano - (we will, we will rock you!) I know a Serbian rapper... is he doing your vocals? I actually like the music but the song isn't my style. Still good work, i feel.
Don't Ask Don't Tell - Orbit! nice! Christ. You should cover a Rush song or two. "OF SAAAALESMEN!" The whole track is solid but imo the vocals rule as king of the track. I picture the singer as a 5'5" bald white guy who may or may not have <5 tattoos. Am I right?
Minty Handy - HAHAHAHAHAHA! Your vocals are off of a CAKE song! Nicely done, is what I'm saying! Sweet uke strumming too, Minty. This'll be getting one of my votes. (I usually don't tell)
Infinity Point Buck - Jesus.I love the vocal rhythm. I agree with a previous review that the flows are happily not simple! Pledge Allegiance to the Funk. hahahahahahaha. ... did you just reference Aurora Borealis?
MC - I like your beat more than I like IPB's beat. That's all I've got. Don't stop, though! I have actually paid for whole CD's (from the trunk of a car) that were WAY worse!
Ross Durand - I'm trying to stay awake and this isn't helping. BUT... solid effort, good sound, lyrical gold. ...or palladium or something of that ilk. GJ!
William and the Psychos - Lively number. I always respect that. I would have over-compressed the whole track but I think this is LESS loud than it should have been. and I love the trickle-down thing at the end! I love a clever outro or wrap up. Overall I like it! +1
EggNogAdam - I just listened to your song again. ...siiiiigh... You'll never get 3 votes. sorry bro.

Seeing as my starting point was "Give peace a chance"...yes.nyjm wrote:/// sounds like something that should be on a Matrix and Resident Evil soundtrack ///
If I'd told you I was singing phrases from an Armenian phrasebook, you'd have called it a song. We have actually had phrasebook songs here in the past - including one from a gay guide to spanish sex talk. I occasionally put lines of esperanto in my songs.--- not a song : just an instrumental that uses vocal tones ---
(Kiom kanzonoj havas nekompreneblajn vortojn?)
Heh! I was initially aiming for a SoulIISoul beat but it...travelled. Kept on moving, in fact.eggnogadam wrote:(we will, we will rock you!)
No, but you should definitely ask them to guest on your next track. There isn't enough east european hiphop in the world.I know a Serbian rapper... is he doing your vocals?
Thank you. I spent a week getting the music right, then messed it up by leaving myself an hour for the vocals.I actually like the music but the song isn't my style. Still good work, i feel.

So Kap, do you feel like maybe writing up something real quick justifying this song against the title? That's the main thing holding me back from throwing you a vote at this point.

Re: Please circle the entries you like (Circle Me reviews)
I wondered what kind of song structure could be 'circular' - aside from the obvious ones like a round, or repeating a motif at the start and finish. I thought a call-and-response song, where the caller and responder(s) exhausted a set of permutations as to who sang which sentences, circling each other until completion - the circle commonly represents completeness. In the event, I did that for the choruses - otherwise there would have been sixteen verses.Generic wrote:So Kap, do you feel like maybe writing up something real quick justifying this song against the title? But honestly, if you like the entry, vote for it. If some psychological dilemma makes you uncomfortable doing so, vote for someone else, and work on resolving the dilemma the next time you have insomnia.
I'm not even sure who I voted for - it would have included Juliette Echo, Ross Durand and Scott Gesser, and I didn't vote for myself.

Minty Handy - A song from the POV of a wrong answer? This is actually pretty cool, certainly a neat idea. Well done sir. (voted)
Steve Durand - I liked this. Very different from what I expected from Steve. This type of song doesn't require a great voice, and that's a good thing for Steve. (use lyric forum) (voted)
Scott Gesser - Fran Drescher would love this. This boarders on the line between entertaining & annoying...for now it's leaning towards entertaining. Nice work. (voted)
Infinity Point Buck - Enjoyed the flow. Some of the lines I thought were clever while others felt weak & out of place. The music sucked.
Ross Durand - Enjoyable little tune, but not really my style of music. Just a bit slow for my liking. Sweet song though. (use lyric forum)
Billy and the Psychotics - Vocals got lost in the mix a bit at times, and overall I just couldn't get into this. Felt messy.
Didn't Ask, Didn't Tell - Lyrically it didn't grab me, the vocal performance was ok, but in the end it didn't stand out.
DJ Ranger Den - I enjoyed the lyrics through the first part of the song, and I'm kinda glad your changes didn't make it into the song you entered. It was too slow for me, and as usual, there were lines I just didn't care for or completely get later in the song.
EggNogAdam - 3 votes was your goal, and you got 9. I don't know how...I mean meta songs should be kickass to get votes...cause there are too many of them in these type of contests.
Juliette Echo - Like the concept, but the lyrics didn't really flow as much as stumble along. Musically it held my interest.
Kapitano - Interesting experiment, but not exactly something I would sign up to participate in.
McCalum - Nice to see someone take on the topic that I imagine inspired the title. Not much replay value, but I would suggest a quick YouTube video of this.
MC Who Izzy Feat: The Standardized Individual - The vocals sounded like shit. Especially "you say circle him once or twice / when he's been left to his own devices / you say circle him once again / but I won't have his blood on my hands" You really need a better mic or something.
