Re: 8/9/11 The Year So Far
My favorite Song Fight song - that is, one of my creation - so far, is "Isle Dauphine." No, it didn't win the live fight and I didn't submit the studio version in time for the on-line fight, but I'm still proudest of that arrangement.
I'm consistently and pleasantly surprised by EggNogAdam's work. I don't know why, but it's never what I'm expecting and it's often very good. But the best surprise for me (and she's going to hate me for it, but I'm going to say it anyway), has been seeing RangerDenni perform in New York. Mostly because all I'd ever really heard before was her "Who Said I'm Dead," which is good, but under-produced and kind of rambling. I had her pegged as a Girl n' Guitar chickee. Yeah, not so much.
Fave new band is Billy and the Psychotics - cuz they bring the RAWK! and I'm very proud of the handful of work that lalabrookie and I have done so far.
Oh, and honorable mention to Jon Eric from whom I have learned the most. Having all the chord charts for his Live! gig was a great inspiration to crack out of the songwriting rut I was in.
