I know I'm like 3 fights behind on reviews...but I'll get caught up. Until then, Sammy Kablam just did his first video review of Song Fight.

There is just one thing worse than an empty head deciding it's a musical genius.

Well he started doing the video reviews halfway through SpinTunes #3. He told me he plans to do Song Fight reviews on video from now on when he can. Based on how often he reviewed past rounds I wouldn't expect every fight to get reviewed...but you should expect more video reviews in the future.

+1, and I didn't even get to my review. This is tryin' too hard - and for what? I can't imagine anything more pathetic than groupies who think Song Fight is some key to internet fame.
If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

I didn't watch far enough into his video to see if there was any indication of an answer to this, but does this guy make music himself? It seems like he just thinks it's cool to hate stuff. Granted, I only watched the first minute or so before I closed it, so maybe he had a few really nice and helpful things to say about us all. Yep. I'll pretend that's what it was.

Anyway, when are we going to put out our reviews of his review? I feel like that would be fun. Maybe even in song form.

Internet fame? I don't think Sammy is doing anything of the such. If he was going to pick a popular form of media to review in hopes of gaining fame from it's audience...I think he would pick something more popular than the movie "Ghost Game", or contests like SpinTunes & Song Fight.

"I didn't watch far enough into his video to see if there was any indication of an answer to this, but does this guy make music himself?"

Why?

"It seems like he just thinks it's cool to hate stuff."

Did you read the title & subtitle? It's the 10th NR he's done here...

His YouTube profile reads, "Opinionated Jerk". His Twitter profile reads, "Dickhead critic of everything you do." The guy can't do too much more to let people know it's a gag.

People shouldn't think he's doing this cause he has a grudge against Song Fight, or them personally. He did his first video review of SpinTunes...he is close friends with a lot of the people in SpinTunes...and blasted the hell out of them as well.

"Anyway, when are we going to put out our reviews of his review? I feel like that would be fun. Maybe even in song form."

I talked to Sammy, he would love that, and looks forward to responding if that happens. By the way, he's more than happy to respond to any comments you may have about his reviews. He's not a SongFighter though, so you would have to leave a comment on the video or tweet him.

I stopped watching because I found the negativity really annoying and his jokes didn't make me laugh. I didn't bother visiting his profile or anything. If he's doing a bit, then cool. That's his prerogative. I'll withhold my offended-ness and corresponding attempts at retribution for when someone legitimately means me wrong.

Yes, we all get that it's a joke.

He doesn't get that it's a bad joke. A tired, childish, boring joke that he doesn't even do well.

Pretending to be a dickhead is only funny to...actual dickheads.

I laughed and I think he did a good job. But then again, I like idiots and retarded humor.....and colorful shirts.

His review of our song: "The biggest achievement of this song is that other songs happen to suck more"

I'll watch every review this guys does from now on.
....until he sucks 50% more than he does now.

That was pretty cool. NIce idea and well executed - but I do agree with Kapitano that the 'jokes' were pretty poor. I have no problem with the negativity - but it was just too repetitive and probably a bit too long. Needs sharpening up a bit.

I'd love to have a crack at doing a script edit for him for his next one if he likes

I actually laughed pretty hard at some of this, especially the review of Juliet's Happy Dagger song..."the harmonies sound like the inside of a slaughterhouse ran by a cross-eyed butcher" and "if this song were a family, they would be a week away from divorce and the kids would end up with the grandparents". I think that's pretty funny stuff. I think he just needs to speed it up a little and perfect his delivery. Otherwise, I enjoyed the video.

I think we should definitely critique the review in song form, though...that is a fabulous idea.
