It's awfully quiet around these parts. Are folks busy for the holidays?

I'm having a house party. You're all invited, but I think none of you are in the area. I just peeled 60 pieces of citrus fruit for margaritas. I think I added too much lime juice. Yes, I've been testing all day...

Other than that, work has been pretty busy and I've been working on the song fight iPhone app in my spare time - unfortunately, I've gotten diverted into how to make it look good rather than making it finished.

Oh yeah, and I haven't done any Christmas shopping yet.

And yes, in my spare time, I spam "View new posts" on this forum.
If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

I'm in a pile of 15th century blocks of stone in Northern England after driving up 4 hours from 4 hours away, visiting my favorite first cousin once removed, and drinking first a few pints of local bitters, then a bunch of glasses of wine. Both my grand parents were from this rural town, so everybody has one of two names, both of which correspond to one or the other grandparent's maiden names. So we share a very strong gene pool. And the bitters tasted really great. And maybe the board admins should move this to fucked up thread, but I never post there because I don't do this enough.

One thing I'm not in the mood for is holidays. Not this one. Other than a week off, but that's just underpaid compensation for a crap holiday that's in your face everywhere.

Oh, happy holidays everyone!

I'm busy with work and music, but not holiday stuff. Bah! Treat your kitten well, Fluffy. My baby girl (yeah, I said it!) is now over 12 years old.

At the restaurant we have had at least one huge dr. Office x-mas party every night. My legs are about to fall off. I make all my presents, and have most of them done, but hopefully my day off Tuesday will be enough to finish everything. Possibly including my GoM entry.

This is actually an adult cat. He's 8 years old and having a really hard time adjusting to his new home, but hopefully he'll warm up to me at some point today (or at least eat some food).

I'm real sick and am not really doing very well here at the end of the year. I am hoping that things get a little better. I'm not real stable and have not been out of the house much. I've missed rehearsals which is a bad scene and the most disappointing to me because I am usually 100%-on-the-ball professional. I think this has been a bit of a rough year. :) I'm glad to have had songfight things to do and hope to put even more into things, I feel that I've been a little lackluster at times but it is best not to complain too muchly!

I am staying positive and have lots of plans for next year. I am doing the best I can and I'm really glad that my family is coming in for Christmas because I adore my brothers. We are really close and they are funny. Adam has two kids and they are just as cute as they can be and apparently Nia (the small girl) acts a bit like I did when I was a little girl. She is around two, or something like that. So I think that some fun will be had. I'm going to take lots of pictures and smile heaps. :)

I get to make pesto with pasta in in (or is that the other way around??). And pie! And we shall eat cheese. And chocolate which is shaped like an orange :)

ps. i have four kitties. their internet names are Porch Kitty, Couch Kitty, Window Kitty, and Squeaky McGee. I bet your kitty will be acclimated fine and hopes-fully real soon, fluffy :)

He will soon learn who brings the food, and soon after love that person wholeheartedly.

I make paintings, jewelry, tshirts/baby onesies this year, and other such things handcrafted from cheap bulk goods. I love spray paint, i do stencils, this year I was on an anime kick and did some of my favorite characters. My house smells like spray paint because it's too cold outside for paint to dry at night right now, so we are all getting high off vapors while we sleep. I've only fucked up three canvases this year, which is good, usually it is more. When I have time I'll post some pictures on here for you to see. I still have a few paintings to do, so hopefully I don't get called into work today.

Sorry you're not feeling well den, you can cheer up now though because Kim Jong-Il passed away, and it makes me giggle to pretend that all the red bows around are for him. Maybe I'll do a stencil of him in a Santa costume. Merry Kim Jong-il day!

Ooo! I like the smoothjazz-NyanCat version you linked in chat that one time! My day improved by 20%, and I cleaned out a substantial portion of my closet. Then I felt even better!!! I think I shall practice today :)
(thanks, btw-folks :) )

This cat is also a Russian blue, like the original nyan cat. But he's still pretty freaked out.

A Russian Blue?! Are you copying us? ;) (That's what our cat JJ is.) The funny thing is that both of Erin's siblings now have Russian Blues also. Only, they paid a lot of money to get kittens from a "cattery", whereas we rescued our guy off the streets of Oakland.

Anyway, congrats on the cat, fluffy. Russian Blues are the best. Hopefully he'll acclimate and be happy in your home.

MG, I'm very excited that you started working on the iOS app. That's awesome! If it helps keep you motivated to chip away at it you should post progress updates with screenshots or something.

I don't really know why I disengaged recently. I'm not super-busy with holiday stuff, though it's been a rough few weeks at work ever since I got back from Thanksgiving. I moved, but we're pretty much settled in the new house now. I've got a new relationship going on, but that's not particularly new anymore. I was doing The iPod Experiment for a while (which shouldn't have inhibited my ability to post occasionally and record music anyway), but that's pretty much over now.

I guess I'm out of excuses. I would really like to try to record a song or two over the next couple of weeks.
