Still haven't even started on mine, even though I've known what I've wanted to do ever since I got sick. Maybe I'll manage to get it done this weekend, as I've been feeling a lot better lately.

Well, crapola. Something's come up and I won't be able to work on this over the weekend like I'd planned. I'm totally hosed as far as the current deadline.

I have every intention of doing this. Stiffing my giftee outright is not an option.

Learned song and transposed it to a key where I can actually hit the notes.
Now to actually record something.

Still working on the second part of that.

Hope I finish in time - but I will finish. I have a fantastic song to do - an one I had never heard before.

I'm done, bar a mix on speakers. Probably get it ovah there on Saturday or Sunday. The song i chose is one I don't particularly like by a band I generally do; I am not sure the finished product is much like the original, but it sounds harmonious (bar my crappy cack-handed keyboard playing) to these ears.

I have a solid plan of attack but didn't get in touch with my collaborator until last week. I'll get there.

I seem to be over my various illnesses well enough to work on music but I'm still busy catching up on all the other stuff I couldn't do while sick. Maybe tomorrow I'll get something recorded.

Done. Reasonably happy with it. Whew.

Fascinating internal process though, learned a lot. I struggled with this for six weeks, with no idea which one I was going to do. The songs were all about their grooves, so as soon as I would take a shot at one, the original groove would be lost and the bottom would fall out of the song. As always seems to be the case with me (sorry, blood pressure) I fretted over it until the last minute, then Saturday finally came up with something.

Thanks, ____ for the inadvertent music lesson.

I'm in. I may not have done a radical re-interpretation of it, but I think my smell rubbed off on it. Looking forward to the tunes!

EDIT: Oh! And I'm going to remove my links, so I hope whoever got me, got them.

BYD is finished. Well, close as we're going to get to finished. We can tinker with it all day, but you gotta let it out in the world sometime.

Done, but I'm having some slight volume issues with the final master. I will play with it tomorrow and submit it while it is still January 17th in my time zone...

98.3% finished. Just fiddling around with some backing vocals and final mix. Maybe a new bass track. Maybe some goanna.
I will probably be a little late (when was this due?) - but it will just be a few days. Not weeks.

Music done. Still singing as I drive around getting vox ready to record. I'm trying to match the singer, but I'm realizing something...I suck. :)

Well, songs have to be in by the night's end....give Eddie some time to do all that website good stuff....the usual asking for an extension...it's up in the air.

Almost finished. I have only to "remove some of the distractions" to finish up some things; and then change my identity and book a flight out of the country after I've done what I gotta do to get some peace and quiet around here.

I'm excited to hear these songs.

How many of you, once you find out who got you, are going to scroll back through this thread and see what that person was saying about their experience?
