Re: 9th Annual Gift of Music
I started on one song, then totally switched to a different song. But now it is finished. IT IS FINISHED.

Baby has not been sleeping soundly, and I have had to take several breaks to go calm her down, but I finished it anyway. Phew! Just hope she gets over this cold soon.

Re: 9th Annual Gift of Music
I still haven't started. I'm basically over my multiple simultaneous illnesses but now I'm very busy catching up with work and on Friday I have a colonoscopy. FUN.
I hate to sound like I'm making excuses even though that's basically what I'm doing.

Re: 9th Annual Gift of Music
Sorry all, our track imploded. I'll make it right, but I don't have a timeline. Weeks, but not months, and not days.
Apologies.
Apologies.

Now 99.6% finished.Caravan Ray wrote:98.3% finished. Just fiddling around with some backing vocals and final mix. Maybe a new bass track. Maybe some goanna.
I will probably be a little late (when was this due?) - but it will just be a few days. Not weeks.
I just may still add bass. Or maybe not. ETA probably Friday arvo Aus time.
Sorry - but I really like this song and don't want to rush it out - and after some 8 or 9 years or whatever of doing these and ALWAYS being on time - this year I am taking a few extra days. I have no reason for this slackness - but out of solidarity for Fluffy, I have jammed a camera up my arse*

Done and in. It may worm its way onto the internet shortly, because I'm massively impatient, but don't worry, my giftee would have no idea where to look.

Re: 9th Annual Gift of Music
I'm running late with mine. I was gonna finish it last night but I got sick and I'm not singing with this sore throat.

Re: 9th Annual Gift of Music
I will have mine done by the end of this weekend or Sunday night, which ever comes last. Like everyone else here, I'm sick too. Not in a physical sense so much, but more in the mental-y sense I guess.

Re: 9th Annual Gift of Music
I feel so left out. I thought I was done Sunday and had sent my song in, but as it turns out, a nuclear bomb accidentally detonated in my studio, so now every molecule of my gear is three inches from every other molecule. PLUS, I have athlete's foot. So those two things are like a perfect storm and my song might be 63 months late. But I will get it in.

Re: 9th Annual Gift of Music
OK - I am 100% finished. Let me do a little fiddling and I'll post tomorrow.
I will never get this the way I want it. So - it is done.
I love this song. Best Christmas present ever from the dude that suggested it for me. There was an instant connection the second I heard it - I had to cover it.
I wonder if the giftee can guess what it is before I post it? Who thinks they may have suggested a song that affected Caravan Ray viscerally? It is sort of obvious - in a tangential sort of way
