Complain about your schedule. Apparently people like that sort of thing.

Corned Beef And Guinness Day - 03/17/12

Post by Billy's Little Trip »

Saint Patrick's Day is a cultural and religious holiday celebrated on 17 March. It is commonly called simply Patrick's Day, or Paddy's Day, or sometimes Saint Paddy's Day. It commemorates Saint Patrick (c. AD 387–461), the most commonly recognized of the patron saints of Ireland, and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. It is observed by the Catholic Church, the Anglican Communion (especially the Church of Ireland), the Eastern Orthodox Church and Lutheran Church. Saint Patrick's Day was made an official feast day in the early seventeenth century, and has gradually become a celebration of Irish culture in general.

Thank you wikipedia.

Question of the Day 1: Anyone doing anything to celibate?
Question of the Day 2: Are you wearing anything green? If not, cyber peeeeench!

I've got my corned beef in the crock, going to make Colcannon to go with and Guinness bread. It smell great NOW. It's making me hungry.

My favorite song when I'm feeling like a leprechaun, drinking green beer and bangin' my gong.
....I just made that up.

Remember kids, drinking and celibacy don't mix.

Seriously, though. Seattle Sounders FC home opener! It's a good thing that green is one of the team colors. There will be much pre-funking. Beer, beer, beer. I haven't even started drinking yet - I'm just acting drunk in preparation.

I made corned beef and drank Irish Whiskey last night, so I'm covered on that front.

I have more Irish blood than anything and the American celebration of Saint Patrick's day has always confounded me. I suppose it's part of our own culture, to take what is a minor, but perhaps sacred celebration and turn it into a mindless alcohol-guzzling sprawl (cf. Mardi Gras, Dios del Muerto).

Sorry, that's kind of a snide downer, but I don't need an Irish saint to let me have a good time with an inappropriate amount of beer, and I don't like wearing green, and I especially don't like artificially-colored green anything.

Erin go bragh! ;-)

I don't need an accuse to drink beer and eat corned beef. But it's nice to have a day when people start drinking at 9am outside every place in the city called Patsy's, Flanagan's and O'Reilly's.

....and AND...corned beef is 50% off at the store. I bought 3. One to cook for St Pats and 2 to freeze. I'll smoking one at a later time for pastrami.

Finally just took a leak on the wall without one. If i had had some support it would have been easier. ps-did i spell that right

Yes. Yes you can. It is an excellent site, isn't it!

BTW..does anyyone know WTF is going on there?

I recall getting a free 6 months of web site or something from Hostbaby back in 2009 when I did my CD through CD Baby. Then I promptly forgot all about it. And it looks like sqatters have moved in.

Now www.caravanray.com seems to be a vendor of caravan related goods. I hope their business is booming. I try to send as much their way as I can. But I assume that my website name is lost forever. Is that right? Why would somebody sqaut on a website like that? It seems bizarre.

Yes I do. You win.

But I would never call them "shitters". Their job description says "Personal Assistant" or "Relaxation Consultant" - and they do a very fine job indeed.
