dream band
dream band
if you could choose any members from any band... and put them all into one band... who would they be... (dead or alive)
i'll start this...
singer: Freddie Mercury
guitarist: eric clapton, back-up/second lead- gary rossington
bassist: victor wooten
pianist: billy powell
drummer: keith moon
back-up vocals: rest of queen
violinist: charlie daniels (think his style of playing, would fit in)
think that may be it... who knows i could think of some incredible players... but mostly was trying to think of something that would probably sound good together

Engine room (bass n drums) - Janet English and Kram from Spiderbait
Other Guitar - Dick Dale

we would all wear uniforms like Swedish band The Gert Jonnys (see Swedish band thread), and make-up like Kiss. And hats like Devo.
oh, and Keith Richards can come too. He doesn't have to do anything if he doesn't want, just hang around and be cool

Ok, I noticed a couple of you are just putting together an allstar band and a couple of you are putting together a nice sounding band. I'm going with the latter with a particular sound.
Vox: Robert Smith (The Cure, not the football player)-Provide signature lead vocals that cut through with a spooky passion and maybe some clean guitar melodies and or fills.
Guitar: David Gilmour (Pink Floyd)-Provide smooth effected guitar beds and maybe take the vocals for the harder hitting songs
Keys: Josh Silver (Type O Negative)-Provide full range of powerful moods with precision, strength, and touching dynamics.
Bass: Eric Avery (Jane's Addiction)-Provide flowing rhythmic bass lines for both the dark ballads and the hard rolling action songs. Has proven he can do both quite effectively.
Drums: Lars Ulrich (Metallica)-Provide heavy handed pounding drums filling up every hole left in the EQ spectrum while maintaining dramatic backdrops for the more melodic pieces. Like Avery, he can do both very well.
Back up Vocalists: Sarah Brightman, Kate Pierson (The B52s), Sting (The Police)
Live Guests would include: Allison Krauss, Raul Malo (The Mavericks), and Chris Isaac for thier vocal abilities.

My band would make really good records and have a fantastic live show. They would create an awesome atmosphere and provide music to get lost in.

You don't have to like him or anything. I'm certainly NOT endorsing this guy's personality.john m wrote:Hoblit, Hoblit, Hoblit...Hoblit wrote:Drums: Lars Ulrich
