Complain about your schedule. Apparently people like that sort of thing.

4th of November, 2012 (Sunday)

Post by JonPorobil »

I haven't been to Song Fight in what feels like ages! That's not right.

Things haven't been 100% swell for me lately, but they do appear to be getting better. My wife was unemployed or underemployed for most of 2012, which put a strain on us financially. Just as it finally got to the point where I pawned one of my instruments for grocery money, she found a full-time permanent position, and is beginning to contribute towards the household expenses.

During that time, we also took in a stray dog. Not the best move, financially, but as those of you who have known me for a while are probably aware, my wife and I feel what some have described as a heightened sense of obligation. Dog #2's name is Simon. I've attached a photo of him hanging out on the couch with Dog #1. Simon is in the red harness on the left, and Maxwell is the one in the purple harness on the right. Everything smelled like urine for a little while there.

A few years ago I accidentally came out as polyamorous in the "I'm kind o fdrink ruight now" thread: http://songfight.net/forums/viewtopic.p ... 24#p154924 So that's still a thing. I had two breakups in quick succession earlier this year (one of them sudden and explosive, the other drawn-out and awkward) that, between them, sort of sapped my motivation to do anything creative for a while. Lately I've been seeing someone new, and it's nice and invigorating, but also makes time management a huge hassle. I'm kind of just getting back into the swing of things, creatively.

So then, my question of the day(/week/month/however often we're posting these things these days) is simple:
What did I miss?

Image Hey! I'm standing right here!

...in other news, Caravan Raymond moved a couple more times. He doesn't even bother getting new checks made anymore.

You should name the dogs the Nevada twins.

I, too, have adopted another pet: a shelter-rescued stray cat whom I have named Fiona. She helps to keep Werner from going completely nuts with loneliness. Although she seems to do that at the expense of making me go nuts for other reasons (right now she's wrapped around my leg and chewing on my ankle, for example). But at least the two cats are getting along, and when I get home from a long day of work Werner isn't a neurotic mess.

I've been trying to work on music but the spark just isn't there. I also seem to have completely forgotten how to play piano. Very disappointing.

Cute pups, by the way.
I finally got inspired, via alcohol, to partake in a meme that always makes me chuckle. This is my silly little chihuahua, Boo Boo. He's in bread.

He does funny things just to make me laugh. Like, if I take towels out the dryer, he'll climb under them and pop his head out with the towel still on his head and pretend he's a nun. Sometime, instead of picking up his chewy bone, he'll pick up Blaze's (my cattle dog) bone which is bigger than he is and he'll prance around in front of me saying, what? Is there something in my teeth? Oh this? This is just my normal bone. I'm just going to go have me a chew session with my normal bone, man. No biggie. (prance prance prance) It's really funny when his back legs come off the ground.
