I don't know what I got yet. We aren't opening presents until everyone gets here. But I did get a call from my son a week ago from guitar center asking me my brand and gauge electric, acoustic AND bass string. But I'll still act surprised. I'll be all, YAY STRINGS! Image

Merry Christmas, my SF brothers and sisters. I didn't get anything musical, but I got plenty of things I really needed such as a new electric razor and some new jeans.
From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style. :D

I'm being a hermit and shirking all sorts of familial and friendly connections today. Aside from two white elephant parties (thus exchanging crap for different crap), the only gift I gave was a bunch of cat toys for my parents' new cats, and the only gift I received was a membership to the Seattle Art Museum.

Well, you can only blame yourself for that for trying to sound like a sophisticated art hipster down at the local coffee bar. :P

Oh, I actually asked for that. And specifically said I didn't want material gifts. I have too much stuff already, and generally if I want something I'll just buy it for myself.

Yeah, I don't blame you. I like my cloths already made too. Years ago I had to specifically say no heath kit gifts. I hated it when my dad would be all, hey dumbass, I bought you a new stereo. Then when I opened the box it was just a bunch of diodes and flux capacitors. I'd get rebellious and build a time machine. My dad would be all, so where's your stereo I bought you? I'd point to the tardis in the corner. He'd shake his head and say, what the hell is wrong with you? I'd look down at the floor and say I don't know...... but I'll find out in time. Image

Remember up yahhh ^ I said I knew I was getting electric, acoustic and bass strings? Well, what I didn't know was that my son also saw a cool beer stein he knew I'd love. And I do! My much needed musical haul this year.

Image

Also, I got my usual year supply of picks (not pick-shured). Check out what I've been using for the last several months because I'm so used to having picks given to me, because I'm a pick socialist. I wonder if Obama has a pick program? Obamapicks.
I hope you're sitting down.

....the triple A pick is my bass pick. That's the secret to my bass sound. :P

I got seasons 2 and 3 of Community on DVD, but that was a few weeks ago, because it was a Channukah gift. Allyson and I bought each other t-shirts, because we couldn't really afford extravagance this year. My mother in law gave me cash, and some cousins gave me an Amazon gift card, which I promptly spent on music downloads. Oh, and a friend from out of town shipped me something that got stolen off my front porch. People kind of suck.

That was pretty much it for me. Low-key Xmas.

Happy Holidays everyone!

I have had a $100 Amazon gift card, converted to Amazon credit, for a year. There's nothing I want that costs less than $100.

I just got my new card, so I can make a new pick from my old one AND at the same time cut it up to prevent identity theft. Hi birds, I'd like both of you to say hello to my little rock!

Nothing worse that teenagers getting joy towed around town on my dime.

We adopted a baby orang-utan for Christmas. His name is Bunga.

Though I think I read the fine print wrong. Apparently he still has to live in Borneo, but we just send him money. He won't be able to come with driving around the country with me in a big rig having adventures as a bare-knuckle fighter. (Anyone want to buy an 18-wheeler semi-trailer? Turns out I won't be needing it after all)

Very cool. Maybe you can visit him and teach him sign language. Things like, STOP, YIELD, NO U-TURN, etc.

Also, your 18-wheeler semi-trailer. So....it's kind of a trailer but not quite?
