I can help with the coding. I am playing this Friday and Saturday plus School plus Work plus Wife ... I don't have that much time. I could use art work and ideas. I can generate something pretty standard but still nice. (no applets, all tags) Let me know when you want to come over. (I still have a picture of you with your cowboy hat and badge... heh)

edit: I didn't see the blog. Is that gonna be it?

Nope, the Blog is for planning. We should have another page for marketing.

Whatever songs you don't do will be done by your Bro' in law Bob Saget himself.

"fat steaming bag"

[/inside joke]

sooooo i'm kind of confused now. i wasn't even aware the band was also including (h/m)ostess. what exactly is the instrumenation we're working with here?

furthermore, i'll pretend like you just yelled at me again to get my ass in gear regarding picking a song or two to play, and attempt to comply.

Hey Hey, sorry havent been in town, just got back. I could do however many, but if Jason Laine is up i would use him. Hes a much better drummer than myself. If he is not up, Ill play as much as you want.

Dylan & Mostess are both in, they just mentioned earlier in the thread they might do 'a few songs' so I'm making sure I got all bases covered. The instrumentation is mostly based on what song we're playing, (e.g. both Plat & I will be switching between keyboard/guitar when necessary.)
I've been as bad as anybody when it comes to picking songs for this show. So this week, lets all come up with (at least) 2 we personally want to do. They can be yours or someone elses.

There are about 20 Carol Cleveland songs that I would love to do, but they would be way too hard. I cant figure out what chords he uses. It might be cool to stick to songs of people who are coming to the show, just to make it more fun. Maybe. Or we could do a whole set of Lightning Ear Fart.

Up to you man. Give me the name of Carol Cleveland songs you want to do & I'll write the chords out (or just ask Nice Geoff, he'd probably be honored.)
Can't wait to hear what your regular band has in store !!

Have you tried to transcribe any CCS? its really not as easy as it sounds. He uses so many inversions and cool passing chords that it makes it pretty tough to figure out. Even if we did get the chords, performing would be another near impossble feat, with all the harmonies and funky rhythms. we should prolly stick to something easier. Im not picky.

Sorry. I just thought the name was funny. I wouldn't mind playing in an impromptu band, but I probably won't have time to do much (a.k.a. any) rehearsal. So if you really need sloppy rhythm guitar and half-improvised backing vocals, I'm your man. It would be unfair to ask such a group to learn any HM songs in return for my lukewarm committment.

However, is anyone willing to do a couple sax(/clarinet/flute/harmonica/melodica/...) riffs on a couple songs in my set? Anyone willing to play a drum or two? I'm worried that a guy-and-guitar act won't exactly sparkle among the six piece bands and people who mic their bass drums to get a bigger sound. Maybe I should learn to dance?

MOSTESS
This is a Songfight! event & there is no wrong answer. Out in Seattle, Adjuster did a set with a PC (Boy+Computer) and it was great. Your songs would work great as Boy+Guitar (especially 'So Kind Stacey.' I can't play clarinet but would a sax work ??)
Hopefully we all will have a good grasp of songs before practice, so I hope you can join 'The Voice of Platolio Naustess.' Song Titles / Chords / Etc will be starting to post soon, keep your eyes open here & on the Blog.

Also seen some interesting talk in another thread, if it's for real then...

Minnesota would gladly open it's arms to GLEN CASE!!

I think everything is set! We have bands, we have a time and place. There is enough talent signed on to start a new label! One thing left... I have no way to video tape and/or record the event. Does anyone have the equiptment? I hope everyone is getting the word out. We need people to play for! I will bring 5 to 10 people... How about you? I am getting pumped. I am even concidering entering a SF... Bolio, you rock for all the attention you have given this. Tom says "I think it will be great to see Jason" I would have to agree. It will be excellent to meet all of you!
