Nur Ein VIII - I Don't Want an Answer to That
I Don't Want an Answer to That by Tubba Gutz
I've been at this game since I sang in Block City,
back when I was still in high school and all of my meals were free
I thought that would be forever, things would be handed to me
so I never worked for anything, and I could never see
how in college I would hit the wall and end up in the shit
how the people who were working hard would stop to laugh at it
how I stayed in bed and gained weight, always writing stupid songs
knowing one day my ride would show up and I would tag along
through the stadiums and interviews, the weight loss and the tabloid news
the alcohol and cigarettes, well some of it came true I guess
I'm not Bruno Mars, I'm not even Pauly Shore,
sometimes people start with nothing and end up with so much more
I had every option open to me, keys to every door
I have blown so many chances, I know nothing is for sure
but if one have them had panned out maybe I would know what for
what for spending every dollar I made at the liquor store
what for spending every minute stacking up all my excuses
what for treating those who love me to my bullshit and abuses
what for waking up a millionaire, like it was just a snap, but
why did it never happen, I don't want an answer to that.

Re: Nur Ein VIII - I Don't Want an Answer to That
I Don't Want An Answer To That
- The Tydon Docks
This week, we'll see the bottom of ten bottles of Bundaberg Rum
This week, we'll see inside of every pub from here to kingdom come
This week, we'll see strips shows showing lots of twat
But next week, what are we gonna be?
I don't think I wanna know the answer to that.
Well Mummy and Daddy they gave me lots of money
To go out and have fun with all of my mates
We have fun, fun, fun
In the sun, sun, sun
It's holiday time
We do whatever it takes
Oh yeah life is good it's time for celebration
In a means fitting for people of our station
This week, we'll see blokes taking dumps in the back of a bus
This week, we'll see fat coppers who can't run as fast as us
This week, we'll see windows smashed and tyres slashed
But next week, what are we gonna be?
I don't think I wanna know the answer to that.
We are young
We are free
Now it's time to get dirty
When me and the boys have a holiday
Down to the beach for a holiday
A lovely holiday
In the sun
We'll have fun fun fun
In the sun sun sun
On our holiday
This week, we'll see dodgy blokes down an alleyway selling us drugs
This week, we'll see old ladies calling us drunken thugs
This week, we'll see shit and vomit and piss and blood
But next week, what are we gonna be?
Back in our jobs
as accountants and solicitors
in our City offices
making lots of money.

How many lies did you tell, well you do the math
Go on and tell me just one more, and I'll give you a dirt nap
I'd rather be covered in bugs, before I hear one more lie
You really must think that I'm a rube that fell from the sky
Did you ever love me - When you lay above me
Or did you see me as rat and you the cat
Please don't say cos
I don't want an answer to that
Hardly a moment goes by, that I don't seethe with anger
But you were knocked down for a while, and avoided all danger
Then you rose from the dead in your dirty pink skirt
Frothing with rabies and spewing out hurt
Did you ever love me - When you lay above me
Or did you see me as rat and you the cat
Please don't say cos
I don't want an answer to that
That was so long ago, when I believed in you
And I was wrong, I know, cos I couldn't see through
Now you're gone, and it's so, I now know the truth
You were born in the gutter, which is where you should have stayed
With your paper thin soul, and your hit by a train face
It's high time you're gone from the house in my head
When you bite down on my heart you'll see I already bled
Did you ever love me - When you lay above me
Or did you see me as rat and you the cat

I Don't Want an Answer to That (All Of The Above)
by Chokehold Princess
A) We rise to meet the moon as sunlight sets
B) Rebloom within a bird or baby's breath
C) We break to bones and fur
Oh, I don't want to answer her
All of the above
All of the above
How beautiful she is
All of the above
D) The rain that strikes the stone is memory's tear
E) The bug that beats its song in sleeping ears
F) The deepest dream of black
Oh, I don't want to answer that
All of the above
All of the above
How beautiful she is
All of the above
Bubbles blowing in the park
Hit the paper, burst apart
Fill the bubbles pencil dark
Bubbles occupy my heart

The doctor looks at me and says:
Please insert your finger
Please insert your finger
Into the hole in the machine
It takes just one drop
One drop of blood
For the death machine to know your fate
But once again
I chicken out
And make my way back home
The latest innovation in medical technology
The Machine of Death
Gives a 100% accurate prediction of how someone will die
Using just a sample of their blood
I don't want an answer to that
Don't want to know
I don't want an answer to that
Don't care to know
But once again
I change my mind
And I pick up the phone
I'm on my way to the doctors now
The doctor looks at me and says:
Please insert your finger
Please insert your finger
Into the hole in the machine
It takes just one drop
One drop of blood
For the death machine to know your fate
So I place my finger on the needle
The doctor looks at me and says
The doctor looks at me and says
The doctor looks at me and says
The doctor looks at me and says
The doctor looks at me and says:
Hit by a train
Be careful with that

Jon Eric - I Don't Want an Answer to That
Did you come to bake a cake with me
Or did you only wanna lick the spoon?
I've been howling at the sun
And bathing in the moon
Every time you look into my eyes I feel distrust
[chorus]
It's so aggravating when you're not around
Or when you're here and you don't wanna chat
I am tempted to ask you if you love me
But I...
Don't want an answer to that
Are you really on a date with me
Or did you just lose a bet?
I'm chewing on my wine
And drinking my croquette
And then you look across the table at me with disgust
[chorus]
Don't want an answer to that
Don't want an answer to that
Don't want an answer to that, baby, that, baby
[x3]
And if you ever ask me how I feel, I'll turn to dust
[chorus x2]

Cavedwellers-I Don't Want an Answer 2 That
words and music by Escandon/Phillips
Would you say to me, hypothetically,
That you'd stay with me until the end?
Would you not not insist, like an optimist,
that you'll never fail to be a friend
Isn't it insane that i return again and again
I don't know what to say, I don't know what to do
you just pulled a switcheroo
I might wonder what it is I lack
but i don't want an answer to that
I don't know what to say, I don't know what to do
you just pulled a switcheroo
I might wonder what it is I lack
but i don't want an answer to that
well, in all honesty, it's better not to speak
-words that make no difference anyway
we are well aware, when the clouds are clear,
I’ll be here no matter what you say
Isn't it insane that i return again and again
I don't know what to say, I don't know what to do
you just pulled a switcheroo
I might wonder what it is I lack
but i don't want an answer to that
I put it on its head, I pulled a switcheroo
to find out what i mean to you
If I let you go, will you attack?
Well, I don't want an answer to that
Isn't it insane that i return again and again
i can't tell if you're happy, i can't tell if you're blue
another flicking switcheroo
how many times have i lost track?
oh, i don't want an answer to that
This skin I need to shed, and pull a switcheroo
cos I don't even know what's true
I might wonder what it is I lack
but I don't want an answer to that

Balance Lost
Won't you stay, show me a smile
I'm going away for a while
More than a day, further than a mile
Tell me when you'll come back
I can't rely on you to come fly with me
Around the world, I won't slow down, girl
I can't wait for anybody, I've got the money
If you ain't saved up you can eat my dust
Everybody's invited, it's a rare sighting
To see me sat at home without writing
Once the verse is laid I'm on my way
Out the door to the next place, if it's exciting
I only heard what I wanted to
And it wasn't in line with the facts
I told you this question's rhetorical
No I don't want an answer to that
We can meet up in Madrid
And talk about the things you did
I'll admit I'm afraid to ask
About the things in your past
I only heard what I wanted to
And it wasn't in line with the facts
I told you this question's rhetorical
No I don't want an answer to that

Title: I don't want an answer to that (the question I never asked)
Challenge: Used song fight title 'A Conversation' in the lyrics and lyrics composed conversationally
hello how's it going
i'm fine, yourself?
did you have a good weekend?
I sure did, how about you?
well i read a book about this theory
that the universe is going to expand and contract
and grow and shrink back
and cycle forever on and on and on and on and on
and on and on and on and on and on
I THINK I GET THE PICTURE
on and on and on...
i don't want to know
i don't want to care
i don't want to hear what you have to share
this used to be a conversation
and now it's just regurgitation
you told it to me once
you told it to me twice
you told it to me backwards and clockwise
write it down instead
or keep in your head
pretend that i'm dead
hey can i borrow a pencil
yes you may, it's quite a utensil
did you know it's made from graphite
well not quite
because some of it's wood
well yeah obviously that's assumed
i don't like assuming cause sometimes it comes off as rude
and actually most pencils these days are plastic
and it keeps going on and on and on and on
I DON'T EVEN REMEMBER THE QUESTION
on and on and on and on
i don't want to know
i don't want to care
i don't want to hear what you have to share
this used to be a conversation
now i need a vacation
you told it to me once
you told it to me twice
you told it to me backwards and clockwise
write it down instead
or keep in your head
pretend that i'm dead
i appreciate the thoroughness
of the answer that I never missed
to the question that i never asked
my tolerance is going fast
we could continue splitting hairs
but this time I think I'm going to take the stairs
cause listening is far too hard
for my tiny brain
i'm just not as smart as you
(...yeah we'll go with that)
i don't want to know
i don't want to care
i don't want to hear what you have to share
this used to be a conversation
what is this, your dissertation?
you told it to me once
you told it to me twice
you told it to me backwards and clockwise
write it down instead
or keep in your head
it's better off unsaid

If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

I don't want an answer to that
(Carlo Bruno Jr.)
If you could read my mind tonight
That would be better for us
I'm sorry to inform you, oh dear
Somebody's hurting me
Don't try to understand me
When I can only say words of death
I don't want an answer to that, baby
Oh please, let me be
Beware of me, beware of you, beware of us
A kind of fire starts on our brains
You say I'm going crazy, and I...
I throw your glass away
I see your sad expression,
Seems like tonight is our last night
I don't want an answer to that, baby
Oh please, let me be
If you want to stay with me forever
Go now, I'll tell you how long
Please don't look back
It's only a matter of time
If you could read my mind

A kind of fire starts on our brains
You say I'm going crazy, and I...
I throw your glass away
I see your sad expression,
Seems like tonight is our last night
I don't want an answer to that, baby
Oh please, let me be
If you want to stay with me forever
Go now, I'll tell you how long
Please don't look back
It's only a matter of time
If you could read my mind

I Don’t Want an Answer to That - Frankie Big Face
Where did Applejack go?
Oh never mind, I don’t want an answer to that
Let me believe that she’s still overseeing
Every orchard in her cowboy hat
Wielding a lasso made of honesty
And keeping her hair tied back
Knocking over fences and running free
That stubborn old Applejack
And where is Star Swirl now?
Oh never mind, I don’t want an answer to that
Can’t we assume that she’s forever in bloom
In a field of sparkling rainbow grass?
Scouting out planets with her telescope
She’s a very inquisitive girl!
Treating every star like a beacon of hope
That wishful-thinking old Star Swirl
And where art Lickity-Split?
Oh never mind, I don’t want an answer to that
Let me pretend that her life has no end
And she’s a modern-day Secretariat
Or maybe she’s opened up an ice cream shoppe
And admitted that she’s never gonna quit
‘Cause when she’s around you know the party don’t stop
That abrasive old Lickity-Split
But we all know
Just how it goes
We can’t always be
In pink PVC
You can’t save a pony from a glue factory
Where did Applejack go?

I Don't Want An Answer To That

(SongFight Reference song - "Happy to Be Here")
I’ve been here for years - after all this time
You stare at me with daggers covered in slime
I say I’m happy to be here, you know that I’m lying
I can force a grin but inside my heart is dying
Did you think I’m clever, or funny at all?
Maybe you thought I was a little too small?
Am I full of unmitigated gall? I guess...
I don’t want an answer to that.
Pretend everyone’s happy; it’s your little game
You twist your knives to hurt us and call it a shame
Are you happy to be here? You think I’m the same? Well....
I don’t want an answer to that.
It’s your party, so you can lie if you want to
At least acknowledge the crap that you put me through
I know that you slag me when you get the chance
Don’t pretend you really mean it when you ask me to dance
Did you think I’m clever, or funny at all?
Maybe you thought I was a little too small?
Am I full of unmitigated gall? I guess...
I don’t want an answer to that.
Pretend everyone’s happy; it’s your little game
You twist your knives to hurt us and call it a shame
Are you happy to be here? You think I’m the same? Well....
I don’t want an answer to that.
I couldn’t figure out just why you kept me around
Did you enjoy making me beg? Did you just like the sound?
You’ll excuse me as I turn and walk out the door
I don’t think you’ll even notice while you’re holding the floor.
Did you think I’m clever, or funny at all?
Maybe you thought I was a little too small?
Am I full of unmitigated gall? I guess...

I DON'T WANT AN ANSWER TO THAT
(Songfight title used: You Are The Heartbeat Of This Office For Sure)
Spreading shadows, tunneled lights
And flame that’s lacking fuel
A calming voice just to promise
Everything is fine, all fine
A bed of noise, grinding gears
Courses calculated by a fool
Overreacted, but not the only one
Falling out of line
I don’t suit your story
I’ll lay the cards out flat
Did you lose the plot
Or ever know where it was at?
I don’t want an answer to that (oh, no)
Simple symbols, scrawled instructions
Don’t seem to spark so much
But disagreements, interruptions
And sparring from our crutches
Light the torches, circle all the wagons
Kick up some more dirt
The only danger's being proven wrong
I guess that must really hurt
Learn to work in riddles
We can't maintain every fact
Does anything we measure
Ever quite remain exact?
I don’t want an answer to that (and you know)
I don’t want an answer to that (so just go)
You know nothing
But you’re gonna carve something out
You know nothing
And don’t want to know what I’m about
try to settle down
keep it steady now
these imagined things
are worse than any you have found
try to settle down
keep it steady now
it may be a cage
but not long until you're out
We’ve drifted of course, all in the name of
A zero-sum contest
You are the heartbeat of this office for sure
Just before cardiac arrest
These empty spaces
Should not be ignored
But I’m tired of being angry
And so sick of being bored
You are the heartbeat of this office for sure
And you know what you know best
You are the heartbeat of this office for sure
Try not to beat out of its chest

Oh ho
How can I ease your storm?
Well I don’t want an answer to that
‘cause it might mean something's wrong.
We both know
that changes never come
so easy, and it feels like
the remedy won't last long
I know you’ve been down
pushed around and feeling weak
Just ask your precious soul
if it’s loud enough to speak
Oh ho
We struggle back and forth
fighting in a tug of war but
it’s stranger than when we don’t
Time slows
It all falls through the floor
It’s not a credible threat
Just to know you want something more
I know you’ve been down
pushed around and feeling weak
Just ask your precious soul
if it’s loud enough to speak
I know you’ve been down
pushed around and feeling weak
Just ask your precious soul

(I Don't Want an Answer to That)
you see through the truth
and pray past a day
that you try to believe
in all of your angels
do you really need them
and did they ever slip away?
because hiding in shadows
just around corners
trying to slip just beyond
these darker borders
into half-truths I shouldn't get behind
...just leaves me blind
(just leaves me blind)
he's wishing through time.
she's counting the minutes.
keeping this silence and trying hard to live without
slowly drowning inside these stupid bite size
sacrifices
I wasn't chosen and my body is broken
I tried to love, but I only got to borrow
what was wrongfully stolen from
the earth and the stars and the sea
...and if I asked you again if I died,
would you come hold me?
well I don't want an answer to that
we already know what you'd say
you know I'd say the same thing, but
strictly speaking
for our feelings
how can we
make this look so easy?
...so easy
so we wait for the numbers one last afternoon
wait for the birds to fly away see the view
out the window, through the door, down the hall
- all the way to a different moon.
...and if I asked you how much time to make you mine,
would you say 'see you soon?'
well I don't want an answer to that -
I already know what you'd say!
you know I'd say the same thing
but strictly speaking
for all these feelings
...would you come hold me?
...because it shouldn't be this easy.

Why are we here?
What is the meaning of life?
Why does God allow suffering?
Why does God allow strife?
So many questions we banter to and fro
What we need more of is science
To answer things we can know
Like what’s the speed of light?
What’s the great red spot?
What medicine to take for the germ that I’ve got
But it can’t tell us everything
Like why you left
But I’m pretty sure
That I don’t want an answer to that
What is the nature of love?
Is man inherently evil?
Is any team on Earth gonna hire Tim Tebow?
People love to wax philosophy
What we need more of is science
For the answers we can see
Like what’s the speed of light?
What’s the great red spot?
What medicine to take for the germ that I’ve got
But it can’t tell us everything
Like why you left
But I’m pretty sure
That I don’t want an answer to that
Why am I all alone?
And who are you with now?
Do you still smell like jasmine
With him on that couch.
What good are these questions
I feel compelled to ask
What we need more of is science
To keep us on the facts
Like what’s the speed of light?
What’s the great red spot?
What medicine to take for the germ that I’ve got

Adonai where have you gone
Why did you stop helping us along
Left us twisting in the wind

Did you mean to throw us off your track?

We need a sign that you’re still around

Writing down the basics only gives us wrong and right

only your love can set us free
