Incredible!
In; I'm Tina. Oh and I can do the french bit as well being bilingual and all that (note:this is a joke before Noah kicks my linguistic ass but I would enjoy doing "vers la gloire" and all that).

What can't you figure out? How to sign up? Or how to upload a song after you've signed up? I can try to post screenshots to walk you through either or both if you want. I don't remember either process being very complicated. I recommend signing in with Facebook or Google to simplify that process. After you're logged in, there's an "Upload" button in the top toolbar, on the right side to the right of "Go Pro" and the left of the previous/play/pause/next controls. Click that and you should get a page with a big orange button "Choose files to upload", click that, get a file dialog, choose your file, etc.

So, Coverfight is "over" (except for the slackers and stiffers). I guess it's time to get serious about this Talking Heads cover fight.

Deadline: 12am Pacific, the night of Sunday, 17th of November

Participants:
Lunkhead
Niveous
glennny
Jon Eric
Caravan Ray
jack shite
Albatross
BLT
HeuristicsInc
Roymond
Johnny Cashpoint
Spud
Hoglen and Wages

Anybody else interested? I'm thinking of just keeping it simple, people can pick whatever song they want, and if there are multiple covers of the same song, so be it. This way also anybody can join in up to the deadline. If people want to suggest other ways to organize it though I'm open to other ideas.

OK - I worked out what I was doing wrong

Here is a guide track:

https://soundcloud.com/caravanray/psycho

120bpm
just a basic drum and midi bass and vocal so you can work out what is happening

So - use this as a template (it will not be part of the final mix) - and give us some tracks. Drums, bass, guitars, vox whatever.

Maybe this could end up as a separate "mix fight" type thing - if we get lots of tracks and people can pick and chose what they want to use and how they use it?

In the meantime, the mighty Sapient Network and I recorded this for Rocktober - http://www.johnnycashpoint.com/songs/snandjc_pk.mp3

Beat that (musically, at least)! I will now don my Tina hat and bring some to the all-star song fight mix.

Oh my, I *love* that song. Was planning to do a Tom Waits take, but please do it justice, which I can't! "I wish I had a lawnmower"! ;)

not too late

You strike me as a Road to Nowhere kind of guy.

However a folksy Rossy "Life During Wartime" would be awesome. I would guess you'd be drawn to those lyrics.

What Ross said. I have some time on my hands, having just been let go from a place where I worked for 20 years. And I've always admired the Talking Heads, although I don't really know their catalogue. So if anyone can think of a song I could cover, I'd love to give it a try.

J$, it all depends on whether or not I can remember how to make a song.
