Complain about your schedule. Apparently people like that sort of thing.

Hey guys. I haven't been on the forum in a while, and I apologize for that. I don't know why; I guess certain life events have made me feel like I need to keep my distance for the time being. Sometimes even my own motivations are beyond me. I have been in the chat room when some free time comes along. I've been writing a lot of songs, but I haven't recorded anything since last year's Song Fight Live.

A few things happened in rapid succession after SFL last year. I got a new job and quit working at Dell. Then I had a series of heated discussions with my wife, which led to our separation and imminent divorce. Then, two days later, I got laid off from the new job. I spent four months unemployed, without enough money to move out of the house.

A month ago, I finally started working at my new job, as an internal IT rep for a co-op land bank based here in Austin. The new job pays a little less than I used to make, but the benefits make up the difference and then some. I paced my own training and hit the phones in under a week. The first week I spent in the queue, I was #1 or #2 on my team in every stat our manager counts. So things at the new job appear to be going well. What's more, I like the work and I like the company it's for. It's a better position than I hoped I could get after I was laid off in October. The success is bittersweet because I return home every day to a marriage that we've been unable to move on from.

I'm sorry to dump all this in one dramatic post. I'm not trying to tug any heartstrings or ask for help, but I did want the community to know what's going on. I hope to be back on the boards soon, and recording new music not much later.

So... What's been up?

Sorry to hear that you and your wife split up. But yeah, you need to get your own place as soon as you can swing it if you're 100% there is no reconciliation.

qotd: nothing.

Been wondering about you, Jon Eric. Thanks fer checkin' in. Congrats and condolences, I suppose. It'll all balance out right eventually.

QOTD: I started a new job. Am nearing the end of my second week. It's doing insurance billing and...stop snoring! A new field for me for sure. LOTS to learn. But I am glad to be working. Right, Spud? ;)
Bringin' the stink since 2006.

Thank you, guys. At this point I'm not interested in wallowing. Just trying to take positive steps to move forward, ASAP.
