SF 2012 was pretty great
I'm sorry I didn't get more time to hang out with other songfighters but I had a bunch of stuff going on while I was here (the ulterior motive that eventually led to the subject matter of my livefight entry). Still, it was great seeing all of you, even briefly. Also I wish I'd had a chance to hang out with people on Sunday but I ended up sleeping all day!
I also really want to thank everyone I played with for putting up with me and my terrible drumming, and my terrible instructions for those performing on my set as well. I think it all came out pretty good anyway! And for next time I have more ideas about how to make things go a bit more smoothly. Someday I'll figure out how to make cue/lyric sheets that don't suck.
Finally: did anyone happen to record what happened between Glenn and the heckler at Sweet Lou's? I heard it was pretty amazing, but I happened to be outside at the time.

What you heard was exaggerated, I think. The guy was leaving out the front door, and Glenn was kind of in the way. As the heckler passed Glenn, he made a movement like he was going to grab one of the guitar's tuning pegs, but Dre yelled out "HEY! HEY!" and the heckler backed off and left without another word.fluffy wrote: Finally: did anyone happen to record what happened between Glenn and the heckler at Sweet Lou's? I think Glen may have gotten video, but it certainly wasn't the highlight of the night or anything.

No, I saw that part - what I'm talking about was much much earlier, when the heckler was still actively heckling and then Glenn confronted him and he stopped. The dude was completely quiet for most of the evening after that. I think it happened during your set.Generic wrote:What you heard was exaggerated, I think. Re: SF 2012 was pretty great
Ohhhhhhhh.
Well, I can tell you this much: while I was playing, the heckler went directly up to the stage and told me to "just stop." I replied back with something I'd rather not repeat, but the video cameras probably caught me saying it, so it's on the record.
As much as I'm aware that's just one of those "haters gonna hate" type situations, I'd be lying if I told you that didn't get to me a little, and really threw off my focus.
I didn't realize that Glenn had talked to him after that.

....sorry that happened to you jon. Kind of a jab to the ego. But right when I read that I peed a little. lol That guy sounds like a dick hole. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger, and all that.
But forget that. I saw a lot of the pics and some live music of you guys. I loved everything I watched. You guys had a rockin' good time.

Most of what Rachael and I were saying to the heckler was along the lines of "If you don't like what you hear, you can always leave" and similar statements. We essentially tried to reason with him, agreed to disagree, and that seemed to work for a while, anyway.

Re: SF 2012 was pretty great
Several people talked to the guy, but I believe I had the final confrontation. I pretty much got up in his face and told him, "Look, we'll be gone in about an hour. You can come back tomorrow night, and the next night, and the next night, and you will be here, but we won't. You win in the end man". He said, "OK, I'll put the pool cue down", and he did.

Hey, JB...Didn't we discuss changing the SFBB tag line to "Lowering the standard of entertainment since 1999" or something?

Anyone else experiencing residual musical creativity? I've gotten several good ideas noted and a ton of music flowing in my head. Maybe I can even get to recording some of it...
If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

That's a great side effect of hanging out with a bunch of talented songwriters and musicians. I've been getting it too.Manhattan Glutton wrote:Anyone else experiencing residual musical creativity?
