With the recent passing of Tommy, all the founding members of the Ramones are gone now. I think the time is right for a Ramones coverfight. September 15 deadline, because Johnny died 10 years ago on that day.
And here it is, in no particular order other than me thinking they work like this, our little tribute to the amazing band called The Ramones!
The Canadians doing Blitzkrieg Bop
The Kraken Lives doing Beat on the Brat
Paco del Stinko doing I Wanna Be Sedated
Sven Mullet doing I Can't Give You Anything
Transatlantic Fight Club doing 53rd and 3rd
Caravan Ray doing The KKK Took My Baby Away
Roktot doing Questioningly
Johnny Cashpoint doing Beat on the Brat
Sven Mullet doing You Should Never Have Opened That Door
Albatross doing Pet Sematary
Ukuladyboys doing Sheener is a Punk Rocker
A huge thanks for everyone who contributed... Well, what are you waiting for? Mutually admire!

Good question, Ken... Ideally, all songs on their first 3 albums would be covered, and maybe to avoid multiple covers of the same song we should call what we're doing? In any case, anyone can cover any song they want.

Sporcle quiz:
Things the Ramones Want and Don't Want
I think I'd be more up for this project if I hadn't just done a Ramones song for the GoM. I'll check out all your submissions, though.

Still definitely doing this, but won't be able to hit the Sept 1 deadline. Summer's busier than I expected. Later?

Okay, how about this: September 15 marks the 10th anniversary of Johnny's death. Coincidence? Ancient aliens? WHO KNOWS?!
People who have (a) song(s) ready can email them to me at svenmullet2(at)gmail(dot)com. I'll figure out some free way to put 'em up.

No time, no time, but I'm in anyway. Got a sneaky urge to do "Bonzo ..." but would need to update the lyric, so maybe "Beat On The Brat". Obviously there's also the amazing Ukuladyboys cover of "Sheena" from a few years back ... I will make up the numbers, in other words.

In fact, here's the Ukulayboys' cover of "Sheena" (from 2010) to wet your appetites / inspire you to do better / completely ignore. Hey ho!

(Ukuladyboys are j$ and Andy Balham. Every sound you hear (bar the singing) was made on a ukulele, albeit with heavy effects action).

Update: I've had 4 songs done for a couple weeks now, I'm working crazy out-of-town hours (I just figured my next bill out, I'm banking 36 hours every two weeks, because it would be pointless to give all my overtime to the govt pigs. ghetto rich, yo) but it *is* the labor day long weekend, I might be able to crank out one or two more. (Mainly because I just remembered that I forgot take a swing at Loudmouth or Chainsaw) And properly mix the ones I have. Then decide which ones to submit. Anyway, glad to see a bit of participation, people! Looking forward to Sept 15.

My aforementioned cover of "Pet Sematary." (just tried to make a 1989 Ramones song sound like a 1978 Ramones song)

Just started work on my version of "The KKK Took My Baby Away".
