The Lyric Game (featuring Version 2)

Post by Niveous »

My wife is part of an online forum and they started playing this very simple lyric game. And I sat there watching her play, amazed at how long it was taking for people to give in responses. I told her that SF'er would race through a round of the game. My wife's reply was "well, your board is full of musicians" (Her board is devoted to people who own guinea pigs). My reply was "Your board has more people. It still should go faster" (over 4,000 guinea pig owners!). Well, I figured I'd try the game out here (during my boredom on receptionist day).

The rules are simple:

First person posts a lyric (and the 2 lines after it) starting with "A". The next person "B". So on and so forth. "Q" & "Z" are included in the game but "X" has been mercifully removed. You must know the name of the song and performer to post a lyric.

OK. Game On.

And it's strange to watch the things we had all fade away
It all seemed so certain, It all seemed so permanent
And I'm sure no one else suspected anything was wrong

better ideas are stuck in the mud
the motors runnin' on tuckers blood
dont let them tell you the future's electric
cause gasolines not measured in metric
30,000 wheels are spinnin'
and oil company faces are grinnin'
now my hands are turnin' red
and i found out my baby is dead

Extra challange song title is also a B word :)

Fly me to the moon, let me sing among the stars
let me see what spring is like on Jupiter and Mars
In other words, take my hand
In other words, baby kiss me

Is there anybody listening?
Is there anyone that sees what's going on?
Read between the lines, criticize the words they're selling
