Nick Soma - L'Occitane
Part III of the Celina Flanaghan Tetralogy
I've traveled far across the world,
To be given tag after tag.
They used to call me L'Occitane,
But now I'm just a mean old hag.
Yes, once I was a nice young lady,
Now I'm a nasty old witch.
They used to call me L'Occitane,
Now it's the Obnoxious Bitch.
I used to sell them beauty products
To aid them in their travesty
Of beauty - see how ugly I am,
They're still uglier than me!
But now I specialize in potions,
Those that make the bad guys flee;
'Cuz there ain't no competition
For a hideous hag like me!
So, Celina, take this flask,
Carefully sealed by me.
Thinking of those crooks a-pleading
Fills my heart with glee.
And here's a great device for you
For bonus splatter factor.
It unleashes a beast that'll mow 'em down
Just like a tractor.
So, for wreaking total havoc,
Just pull this little switch
And think of me, the one and only
Great Obnoxious Bitch.
Those young girls are no competition
For a mean old hag like me.
They got smoothly outlined backs
But I got an identity.
They got artificial smilies,
I have got an actual brain.
They survive without nutrition,
I survive out in the rain.
Except for you, Celina darling,
You are of a kind I like.
You don't fear things goin' haywire,
You don't fear the final strike.
Yes, once I was a nice young lady,
Now I'm a nasty old witch.
They used to call me L'Occitane,
Now it's the Obnoxious Bitch.

BILLY AND THE PSYCHOTICS
-L'Occitane-
cigarette smell. flick the lighter. see it.
blow out the fire. who's in the back seat?
you think quick, nobody knows your name.
it's the same game - nobody plays it.
you love it. you even think you breathe it.
it’s like she’s underwater ...
l'occitane on her wrists, underneath her knees.
- smells like a rich man’s daughter..
watch her walk!
watch her walking -
she smells like poison, yeah
she's one of those girls,
well can you smell it on her skin!
watch her walking ... fade away
it’s not like she doesn’t know -
she puts it on and it makes it nicer.
maybe it's not obvious.
but is she still a little liar?
bottled flowers, there by the mirror
linger there while you judge her.
nice to look for a little while -
if a doll could be a real girl!
watch her walk
watch her walking -
she could not really want you
she's one of those girls,
well can you smell it on her skin
watch her walking .... fade away

Fade away ........
watch her walking,
coming closer -
watch her walk!
watch her walking!
walking closer, fade away.

L’OCCITANE
by Burnzi
I been looking all night,
staring at the moonlight
wondering how it shines on you
Ever since I came back,
I been thinking about that moment we shared,
and wondering if you felt it too,
do you feel the same way too
l'Occitane
Girl you're stuck inside my head,
with all the words I should have said
now I can't pretend no more
I gotta know if love is true,
or once it's through, its really through
darling I just want to be sure
Do you want me,
or is this just a game
l'Occitane
I didn't know after just one kiss
that you where gonna go away
I didn't know after just one kiss
that I was gonna feel a pain like this

Re: L'Occitane
Hey everyone! For our second Songfight attempt, I did some research on the etymology of the song title and wrote our lyrics based on that. I bolded the most significant lines.
from burning fields
and flowing sand
through centuries
and changing lands
i call to you love
i call to you
turn to me
lavender
and rosemary
turn to me
i see your shape
in my memory
i call to you love
i call to you
the answer is yes
L'Occitane(From the Wikipedia pages of L'Occitane and Occitania)
- L'Occitane en Provence and commonly known as L'Occitane, is an international retailer of body, face, and home products based in Manosque, France. The company name means “the Occitan woman of Provence”.
- Occitania has been recognized as a linguistic and cultural concept since the Middle Ages, but has never been a legal nor a political entity under this name.
- Occitania is most probably a portmanteau French clerks coined from òc [ɔk] and Aquitània [ɑkiˈtanjɑ], thus blending the language and the land in just one concept. Occitan and Lenga d'òc both refer to the centuries-old set of Romance dialects that use òc for "yes".

L'Occitane
by Berkeley Social Scene
From the first magical moment
The distillation of history
Into a moment of hesitation
And a lifetime of action
It’s what she wears
It’s who she is
Every now and then
L’Occitane
Over and Over again
L’Occitane
Her authenticity radiates
Her relationship to nature
Equally invested in culture
And the communication of savoir-faire
It’s what she wears
It’s who she is
Every now and then
L’Occitane
Over and Over again
L’Occitane
Inspired by the mediterranean lifestyle
And the principles of well-being
She strives for optimal pleasure
And a better affinity to her skin
It’s what she wears
It’s who she is
Every now and then
L’Occitane
