i'm also thinking that the thing buried in the ground had something to do with locke's compass being wrong. and could explain why they haven't been found (if it's doing something to alter the perceived latitude/longitude of the island and the plane.
i've never figured out why someone hasn't come looking for the black box on the plane. like the airline maybe, or the government, or the FAA. i thought it emited a signal that could be tracked, but again, maybe the thing buried in the ground is creating some weird frequency distruption.

the previews have been know to try and fool you. abrams and crew are always trying to throw a curve (like how they faked the hotties death/bro tripping on peyote in the last episode) and i think the preview of the bodybag is a fake. maybe they found another body from the plane they hadn't recovered. which would make me wonder...i thought the fat guy took a headcount and matched it against the manifesto. he said there was one more person on the island than on the flight (that ethan rom guy. ethan rom...ethan frome...coincidence?). does that mean they had accounted for all the passengers? then what about those dead people underwater when sawyer and evangeline lille were swimming together? that happened after he took the count. makes no sense.

I have a theory about the compass. There are two locations on earth where compasses are known to be wrong. And only one of them has any polar bears. Might they be at the north pole somehow?
(I'm surprised that not one of them has any sort of navigational training to look at the stars and tell at least what latitude they are at. Also by the angle of the sun at its highest point in the sky you can also tell what latitude you're at. Shouldn't Locke know that sort of stuff? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.)

interesting theory. but the flight left from australia so i doubt they would be anywhere near the north pole. now the south pole maybe....
plus, the days seem to be on a regular cycle with the sun rising and setting. maybe the island is just one big magnet of some sort, sucking people in. that would mess up the compass.
just when this ethan guy was getting interesting they whack him. damn.

I just got all caught up over the last two weeks. This show is interesting, indeed. A lot of the interpersonal stuff is really predictable, and it's a lot more sentimental than I think they'd like to admit, but there are plenty enough plot twists to keep me interested. I've been watching episodes from really good HD Widescreen mpgs on my computer, and I'll be catching my first new episode tomorrow night. I have no theories to add. You guys are pretty obsessed.

Good one today. Lots of things that have been waiting to happen went down.
And for once, I didn't call the ending.

At least his CD batterys died. That was hilarious. And Charlie asked him that very question earlier. He basically said he was a big guy, it would take some time to notice it.jack shite wrote:ok, they've been on this island like a month? i want to know why hurley hasn't lost any weight....
Korean, and yes, she did.jack shite wrote:tonight was ite. that japanese woman looked might fine in a bikini.

Season 30's going to suck. Hell, whether 2 will be decent at all is a toss-up.

i read somewhere that abrams and crew said that the main characters names were given to them for a specific reason.
i also read that the characters of michael and walt (the father and son) were an inside joke and named after walt disney and michael eisner. walt having the magical power and michael being the fuckup.

HURLEY.
There's some weird magic going on at this island. Locke, Walt, and now Hurley. I was hoping his character would attain some importance, and this was satisfying. Something about that moment where he says "Back home, I'm worth $156 million" kinda got to me. Especially when Charlie reacted the way he did.
Hey, so he's the majority shareholder in a box company, right? And Locke....
