Happy Anniversary To Me!
Today is my ten year anniversary at SongFight!. I had actually bumped into it a couple of months prior, but the 7th was the day that I signed up.
While going to community college in Albuquerque in the mid 90's, I took a music class that required us to compose a piece of music. We performed the compositions in class. I titled mine "Hounded By A Duck In C# Minor". Oddly, I was the only one that titled their song. That night while in bed, I was thinking of the day's music and wondering what people would have called their songs. I got myself to laughing so much that I got up and wrote all of the titles down. I swore that I'd write songs to the titles, which I did. This proved quite successful, so I started writing 10 to 12 titles on a piece of paper, then write and (4-track) record the songs. Write another 10 to 12 titles, repeat. Eventually it turned into composition books full of titles, then songs, etc. Fast forward several years, and hundreds and hundreds of songs later to when I met SongFight! and discovered the title first approach here. Imagine my delight! Heaven.
I wrote and recorded four or five songs, Shoot For Tuesday was one, but didn't submit until I thought I had one good enough. I also wrote reviews before sending in my first song as well. I took some deserved punches, got a few nods of approval, and settled in. I have covered dozens of other fighters and 'real' artists songs while here, won a few fights eventually, Blue Lang awarded me a guitar pedal in a coverfight, I was the unofficial Mr.10,000 for the 10,000th song submitted, have forgotten many of the aliases that I've submitted as and have of course, the most submissions by a single artist so far. Ha. Good luck beating me there!
So. Here I am. I've learned a lot, a real lot, and made a fan or two while punishing many an ear drum in the process. I am a fan of most everyone here's music, love the process involved, and respect everyone's opinions and perspectives. Thank you all for a great ten years. Here's to another ten years and LONG LIVE SONGFIGHT!

Congrats Paco! Thanks for being such a stalwart in the community for so long. I'm impressed by the quality and quantity of your music and also your consistently great attitude on the boards. I don't think I've ever seen you post anything that wasn't nice and polite, which is something I wish I could say about myself. I'd still like to collaborate some day, and meet you IRL too! (Song Fight Live this year?)
Don't get too comfortable about being #1 in quantity, though. BSS closed the gap during your last hiatus and we don't plan to take a break any time soon.

Heh. I didn't set out to receive praise, but I do appreciate the nice words folks. And Jerkatorium, how did you dig that comment up. I remember him saying that, but he was controversial at the time with homophobic remarks, or something. Also, I love the BSS on my heels thing. LOVE it!

I listened to your first SF entry and a few others from that fight, then read all the board comments. That was from the first review of your first song I think.Paco Del Stinko wrote:... how did you dig that comment up. Re: Happy Anniversary To Me!
Ah. I looked at those comments after you said so. I had forgotten that was the actual fight where Crates caused a stink.
One of my more memorable reviews was for a fight shortly after that where the reviewer (Beatle Brent? ) said " I had to stop listening because your voice gang raped me. Sorry". Something like that. Had to laugh!

Re: Happy Anniversary To Me!
I always use a Paco entry for a reference track just before I enter a song. Mine never sounds half as good, but I keep trying.
