Beyond Yacht Rock

Post by jb »

For a few days back in whenever it was at Santa Cruz, we were all obsessed with the online video series "Yacht Rock".

They have a podcast: http://www.yachtrock.com

Each episode they create an arbitrary genre name and then pick songs that should go in it.

This is the single biggest regret of missing Santa Cruz that I didn't know I'd regret until today. This is insanely awesome!

And they have a Patreon!

The main guy tried to do some other Channel 101 series but never recaptured the success of Yacht Rock. I thought this one was kind of funny though at least.

Glad to see they're still keeping the fire burning and hopefully making some income off of it.

Nobody does Karaoke with as much enthusiasm as my Vietnamese neighbors. When I hang out with them I play acoustic guitar and the most fun we have is all the Soft Rock Classics. Here in the Bay area we have a band called Mustache Harbor. Their setlist is a lot of these songs.
