Another cute half hour sitcom. Great characters and acting. Um, yeah.

I read that this show was one to watch. I binged it a while back and really enjoyed it as well. It has some good twists.

Agree! We really liked it, and can't wait to see where they take it next.

Super quirky, super creative, and they don't take the typical direction with any of the character arcs which is a welcome change from typical sitcom writing.

I also liked that it's not heavy at ALL, it's just focused on being interesting.

Season 2 is proceeding splendidly. My wife and I love love love this show. It's brilliantly written (both the overall plotting of all the twists and turns, and the dialog and character development) and brilliantly performed (D'Arcy Carden! William Jackson Harper! Manny Jacinto! Obviously, Kristen Bell and Ted Danson! Recent amazingly unhinged guest appearance by Jason Mantzoukas!). Add the great directing/editing/production design and it's an A+. I desperately hope it lasts as long as the writers want it to.

I just finished the first season a couple of days ago. I'm not in love with the show as a whole, but the plot twists have been superb so far (and incredibly audacious, especially for a sitcom) which will definitely keep me watching a little longer.

Keep at it! Now that the central twist has been revealed, they are still managing to come up with very surprising (and very fun!) plot developments.

We're still enjoying it but to be honest I'm wondering now how long they can stretch this out. I suspect maybe they are leading up to another big twist near the end of the season that recontextualizes everything again. That might work, but doesn't seem like a sustainable strategy for the show over more seasons. Anyway, it's fun while it lasts.

I believe Mike Schur has said in interviews that he knows where things are ultimately going plot-wise. I agree that it's not a story that can or should be stretched out too long. I think he pitched it as 13 episodes per season for that very reason.

Just watched the season 2 finale of The Good Place. It offered up... not another twist exactly, but certainly an exciting turn, which bodes well for season 3. Assuming the writing and acting stay at the quality level we've seen (and I don't see why they wouldn't) I'm very very excited for season 3.

Ted Danson makes a really good bartender. They should do a show about that.

That was a nice touch. I'm excited for the new chapter for this show and impressed that they seem to be playing a long game. A friend was telling me some of the backstory he read about the creation of the show. I hope they get to let it all unfold over a few more seasons.
