i got your point the first time. and i agree with you.
If erik is a pretty PARANOID guy, he's gonna infer that someone said he was bad guy. Although I didn't see that inference prior to your post dude~

So by virtue of the title I tried to find the tune that best resembled the title in terms of it's punk appeal. If I was some punker who was into DK, Dead Milkmen etc., would I think this tune would rock my tatoos and piercings off. So here goes....

Electrocushin - This song seems so banal for the title. Kind of too easy and when the double time drum part comes in with the high-hat it's just not punk anymore. No bass. No Vote. Punk is bass.

Gimp Juice - The lo-fi energy of this tune are kinda cool, but I find the bottom end too strong in the mix. Cut out 400 Hz and 100 Hz considerably in this mix and the washiness that is apparent in the mix will be solved. Liked the backing vocals. Makes me want to kill jazz drummers.

l.r.f. - Once again the bottom end is very prominent in the mix and the presence in the vocals is very much needed. I enjoyed the idea of having a crush on the Punk Bartender. I know I've had one or two myself on a Punk Bartender. I also enjoyed the didactic nature of the music in combination with the lyric. Made sense. Well done. Reminds me of a lost track on Valley Girl. Makes me want to find the nearest female punk bartender and get her to tie me up and bite me til I cum cuz I'm not nearly as punk as her.

Molsen Twins - Hey is this some sort of affinity with our Canuck beverage? In general the frequencies are far too strong in the low mid range. Seems like a disease in this fight. I'm down with the three-way cross world collaboration. That shit is hard to do. The song is alright and kind of punk, but I have issues with the lo-fi quality of the song. I think between the three of you, you could have done better on the mix. Makes me want to take a bike chain and kill loud bottom end things.

Teaching Willie - The drum programming gets a bit wonky at points. There is one roll in particular that sounds a little too electronic. I can tell Deshead from a mile away. Your voice is very distinctive. The harmonica is a nice touch and I especially liked the part about cleaning your puke off of the floor. Overall my favourite, so far for the title. Makes me want to go to the local store and buy some whip cream, eat it off my chick and start doing some whipits.

Wreckdom - Yes!!! Finally a tune that is full of real punk-ass bitch fucker. I loved this so much I cried. I think I'm gonna run out and go get my dick pierced get a big ass tattoo on my forearm that my buddy will burn on me with a burning coat hanger. Bill Cosby part has me rolling on the floor. Well done. This got my vote. Makes me want to break my guitar over the nearest hippy.

1) Wreckdom
2) Teaching Willie
3) Molsen Twins
4) l.r.f.
5) Gimp Juice

Yellow Fight reviews!!

These reviews represent just my opinion and if ya dont like it well please feel free to use the ultimate in censorship and dont read em- otherwise here they are

Elecrocushin---------deffinatley punky tho drum loops over punk, needs more bass in the mix, not bad not great also why loop the guit, why not just play it in one it aint hard.

Gimpjuice----------nice chords and melody, the lead guit is nice change - not bad just sound like somthing else and not qwite as good

L.RF..---------really nice drums and guit sound but the voice seems slightly weak in the mix, not bad but again like all the songs so far it just misses somehow

Molsen Twins---------again like the previous a good idea that is just missing i dont know why This has got all I like in it tho j$ you should have spent longer on your vocals- not bad

Teaching Willie---------Deshead punking out - and its okay Lyrically its great as Des always is Good mix I guess this will win this week

Wreckdom---------Excellent very much within your usual style and its even a song this time - I tells ya youre getting the hang of writing actual songs now, well done.

well i guess my reviws speak for themselves

Guess I'll punt in some reviews.

Electrocushin - Yes I'm a lazy fuck and looped the guitar. Also, the tone of the guitar is not what I wanted. I originally sang the vocals and the song sounded punk. We decided to go with the singer's vocals. That, with the guitar, turned the song into a southern rocking groove with new wave drums thrown in because...I am a lazy fuck. No bass. I think by now you know why although I did try to offset it with the open E. Best Electrocushin yet. The first two submissions are dead to me.

Gimpjuice - Awesome punk love song. Unfortunatly, my sub blew 5 seconds into the song..no wait, thats just the mix. Love the organ. Great vocals. Guitar solo appropriate, thanks for kicking out into a bluesy ending. Remember people, this is punk and punk love ain't 80's rock ballad guitar solo. *Edit-This song is really growing on me. If I waited longer to vote you would've had it.

l.r.f. - Another good punk love song. If the vocals were a little more in tune and more raw, I would have got into it more. Also too bassy.

Molsen Twins - Good soundcheck. Now just tune everything up and start the show. It would also be nice if everyone looked at the same sheet of music. This reminded me of the days where 1/4 of the way through the song I would turn to the singer and ask which song we were supposed to be playing. Turns out he was the only one who knew.

Deshead..Err..Teaching Willie - The hisses make me cringe. I love this song nonetheless. Thanks for the mixing tips.

WrekdoM - Best WrekdoM yet. This would definetly fit on a punk CD as a filler between tracks. That is why I scored it so low.

1- Gimpjuice
1- Teaching Willie
3- Electrocushin
4- l.r.f.
5- WreckdoM
6- Molsen Twins
Electrocushin - Shockingly Uncomfortable

Can't say how tickled I was returning home from vacation to find both Jim of Seattle and Hoblit liked this week's song. Thanks guys! Thanks eveybody, really, this I believe is our best reviewed song ever. Not sure why this one in particular spoke to such a wide audience, but I'm damn pleased to hear about it. Also, thanks for sharing it with your bartending friends Leaf, I'm glad they dug. While I have never bartended personally my younger brother and several of my close friends have and I've studied them at work on many occasions, for hours at a time.

There's nothing "tender" about it

Electrocushion- Cool vocals, full of depth. I enjoy the cheesy feel of this song. The fake drums are funny and I dig that crunchy guitar tone. Really dig it. Overall, I think the song could have been more eventful, after the first minute it’s just more of the same guitar and cheesy drums and I start to lose interest.

Gimp Juice-This ones my favorite. That organ tone always makes me smile. I like the meandering electric guitar, kind of has this “who cares” attitude, just floating around. While the lead vocals are not what I generally look for, a little too “sensitive man” for me, I love the backing chorus, strange yet familiar. I could see owning this bands album.

l.r.f.- The effects on the vocals do not effectively mask the fact that you are singing in my very least favorite style. Try relaxing and singing a little lower or something. Lively drums, those are what really kept me listening.

Molsen Twins-I really dig that wavy guitar tone, very dreamy. Instrumentation is choice, It’s like you’ve picked some of my favorite sounds they work together nicely. Drums, of coarse, keeping the songs energy. Normally I really dig J$ vocals (don’t confuse me with Richard) but here they are awkward, some parts seem to really stick out and not fit. Since there is some nice lead guitar I’d probably love an instrumental version of this, no offense.

Teaching Willie-Woohoo! Punk! Moe samples! “I’m choking on my own rage here” is one of my most favorite Simpson lines and I say it all the time. This song is smokin’, great energy. This is what I was hoping to hear from this fight. The change that starts with “and the drinks will pour themselves” for some reason strikes me as odd, not as authentic perhaps? but that’s a minor complaint. This is full of sound and that’s what I likes.

WreckdoM-Craig, the bass player for Rubber Robot, is the sissy man on this. Originally I was planning on doing both voices as is usually the case, but I’m so glad I didn’t. Craig wrote all his best lines including my favorite “Is gin and juice a shot?” and the green drink line which allowed me to mention Lou Ferignou. Thanks Craig, YOU ROCK!

j$ wrote: I was really enjoying this until i realised its thematic similarity to Liam Lynch's 'United States of Whatever' - really liked it a lot. Favourite wreckdom.
Originally this would have been thematically similar to “The shah sleeps in lee harvey’s grave” by the Butthole Surfers, but changed as we worked on it. I’m not familiar with the song you’re referring to but I’ll look it up.

That’s a great idea, I’m embarrassed we didn’t think of that

Teaching Willie - Your Punk Bartender is now my kid's (3 & 5) favorite song. We were all thrashing in the car the other day and yelling and kicking. My wife doesn't support this activity.
