Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog
Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog
Robyn Mackenzie
Said you saw forever in my eyes, but I
I don't think you understand my mind
You are just the weather at the time, and I
I know that I am the endless sky
And you're falling
Yeah you're falling
And I know that you think you're a king and you're leaving a legacy
As the boys in the back drink away all their lust and their jealousy
I'm a shadow, I'm a ghost, I am nothing you could ever want from me
I'm a wanderer above the sea of fog
Write long love letters and poetry, to me
Speak of all the things I'll never be
I'll never be
'Cause you're falling
Yeah you're falling
And I know that you think you're a king and you're leaving a legacy
As the boys in the back drink away all their lust and their jealousy
I'm a shadow, I'm a ghost, I am nothing you could ever want from me
I'm a wanderer above the sea of fog
And I wander, wander like the
Like the rolling thunder, wanna
Wanna go beyond, beyond ya
And I know that you think you're a king and you're leaving a legacy
As the boys in the back drink away all their lust and their jealousy
I'm a shadow, I'm a ghost, I am nothing you could ever want from me

Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog
Duncan Martin
While wan’dring o’er the sea of fog on lonely Clifdon Bay
A maid arose from out the peat as dusk replaced the day
I took my watch behind a wall of mortarbrick and stone,
She pulled a kerchief from her dress and sneezed a baritone
What damsel’s this, I asked the wind, a gale from o’er the sea
It shook my lobes and whistled utt’ring not a word to me.
I followed far behind in case she turned around and looked
And when she did I hid myself but the ground around me shook
When I awoke I saw her there in corduroy and tweed
I promised her that I was just a drifting poplar seed
She flipped the bird, but took my word, which chilled me to the bone
Then lit a smoke and cracked a coke and said she’d drive me home
Who are ye lass? I softly asked, she looked at me and smiled
I’m Kerry Mae, I’m in the pay of this fair emerald isle
It be my job to walk the fog as tourists catch a sight
The board of trade knows men love maids who haunt the moors at night
Verse Inst.
Oh Kerry Mae sleeps through the day, has tea and toast at six
At 8 she starts the fog machine below the peaty bricks
She dims the screen and scrolls her feed while saunt’ring up the hill
Perpetuating myths that help the locals pay their bills

Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog - Brown Word and the Big Whine
High above the waves
On the edge of the world
Where the clouds touch heaven
I have flown a million miles
Departure is arrival
Now a ship on the horizon
Its masts piercing the belly of the sky
The crime unfolds, it has been told
The albatross lies shattered
On the cursed bow
They give my body to the sea
And the fog does roll in
I float into the face of the sun
And become one with the wind
Wanderer above the sea of fog
High above the waves
On the edge of the world
Where the clouds touch heaven
I have flown a million miles
Departure is arrival
Now a ship on the horizon
Its masts piercing the belly of the sky
The crime unfolds, it has been told
The albatross lies shattered
On the cursed bow

Wanderer Above The Sea Of Fog - Paco del Stinko
He's the wanderer above the sea of fog
Can't find his way home like a lost dog
You can not swim (you can not swim) if you fall in (if you fall in )
Down down away you go (bye bye)
And you'll never be seen again
He keeps on looking (looking) looking
But he won't see
Got no direction in the grey and mist
He keeps on trying to escape the abyss
He's the wanderer above the sea of fog
Can't find his way home like a lost dog
You can not swim (you can not swim) if you fall in (if you fall in )
Down down away you go (bye bye)
And you'll never be seen again
He keeps on looking (looking) looking
But he won't see
Got no direction in the grey and mist
He keeps on trying to escape the abyss
Bringin' the stink since 2006.

What is in the fog?
Is it a pirate?
Ghost pirates with knives and hooks?
What is in the fog?
Is it a monster?
Stephen King monsters with tentacles?
What is in the fog?
Are they zombies?
Voo-Doo zombies, or shopping mall?
What is in the fog?
Is it a robot?
Is it Satan? Is it Santa?
You shall not know the unknown!
You shall never know, you shall never know!
You shall never traipse within it's shell!
You simply can't behold!
You shall never know, you shall never know!
And see the secrets folded in it's spell!
The fog will never tell!
The fog will never tell!
The fog will never tell!
What is in the earth?
Is it a graboid?
A giant worm with smaller worms in it's mouth?
What is in the air?
Radiation?
Microwaves and microaggressions?
What is in my brain?
Is it a plate?
Is it shrimp or a plate of shrimp?
What is in this song?
Is it a poem?
A riddle, a warning, or am I just stoned?
You cannot see the unseen!
You shall never see, you shall never see!
There is no glow for you within it's sheen!
The scene is just a dream!
You shall never see, you shall never see!
There is no info for you to glean!
The fog will never speak!
The fog will never speak!
The fog will never speak!

Wanderer above the Sea of Fog
Lichen Throat
Young man on a mountaintop in thoughtful solitude,
Distant peaks as a backdrop, enduring image of fortitude.
Wanderer above the sea of fog, icon of Romanticism.
Nature is the synagogue; burn down Neoclassicism.
Give me Wordsworth and Radcliffe, not Johnson and Pope.
Give me passion and lovers, not dictionaries and jokes.
The whole world is yours to transform or to transcend;
Bust your way out of it, but don’t try to bend.
You can live as a recluse or like Kubla Khan;
It’s better to be outcast than to be some subculture’s pawn.
Give me Byron and Brontës, not Hardy and James.
Give me the pure and the wild, not artificial and tamed.
Jonathan was a hundred years late
But had the right idea.
He said, “I’m not lonely. I’m not lonely.
I’m alive, all alone.”
On the eve of St. Agnes, or on Geneva’s shores,
On the Mer de Glace, or way out on barren moors,
See the wide world to make yourself feel small—
Or the narrow streets will hold you forever in their thrall.
Give me Shelley and Shelley, not Eliot and Pound.
Give me the great and the tragic, not commonplace frowns.

as january passed away,
among the skies of ash and clay
i called the witch, became an albatross
i called the witch, she sewed a coat
of floss and feathers, slender throat
she freed my body, slit my skin across
she freed my body, let it rise
alone, aloft, alive, blue eyes
wanderer above the sea of fog

Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog

I've been waiting
I've been waiting
I've been waiting such a long time
In the mountains, I thought I saw your face
And I followed you to the seashore at moonrise
Turn your back to me
Wanderer above the sea of fog
Turn your back to me
Wanderer above the sea of fog
In the Arctic, I sailed a sea of ice
The ship splintered in your indifference
I've been waiting

Dollar Bill & the Inkpoints - Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog
Everybody says to me
"Get your head out of the clouds"
Fog's so thick I can not see,
Surely some panic's allowed?
Must go forth upon this sea
I am scared and i'm not proud
Psycho-pirate's life for me
Nervously reach for my sword
Adventurer
Above the sea of fog x 2
Steampunk zeppelin all aboard
Carry me through worlds of fear
Creatures scream, their mighty roars
Ripping through the atmosphere
Sign upon the cockpit door
Says "Have you checked your head yet?"
I curl up, into a ball
I might be the biggest threat
Adventurer
Above the sea of fog x 2
(Should be on my way to see
What it is you mean to me
Adventure's hard, journey's long
But so much could still go wrong -
Spoken word bridge
I am but mad north-north-west.
When the wind is southerly,
I know a hawk from a handsaw.
I am but mad, so bully for me.
I'm crippled by hard shyness
World down here is one of shame
And complacent compliance
But at least it's safe and warm
Adventure's not my middle name
Meekly wading through the fog
Peeking out above the clouds
Like the Cloverfield Paradox
Wanderer
Above the sea of fog
Lost stray dog
Above the sea of fog
Everybody says to me
"Get your head out of the clouds"

Re: Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog
King Arthur:
I don't remember much these days
I have to write things down
Don't always get what people say
I get it twisted 'round.
I'm a wanderer above the sea of fog
Looking down on the tops of the clouds
Wond'ring where the ground has gone to now.
I have trouble organizing my thoughts
Connections that were clear in former days
Now scatter in all directions as
Directions seem to drift in different ways (ch)
People pop up to talk to me
Dissapear where I can't see
Float away where I can't climb
Only real for a very short time.
Can't separate the real from dreams
Can't read the map that's in my hand
Memories go blurry as they form
Accomplish things I never planned. (ch)

Phlub
So many things pulling me away from my honest intentions
How can I overcome distraction?
Shiny things catch my eye -- why can't I ever concentrate?!
I manage anyway.
If I have one single super interesting thing to do,
that's what I'll do all day!
Basic hygeine or jobs or chores or online competitions:
each compete for my attention
You can't understand goes what goes on in my head!
Why should I change the curtains when I can write a song instead
You asked me do it only fifteen days ago
I did not forget, the priority was low!
Sometimes I'm in the zone for hours
Seeds that bloom typically flower
If not a winner, than a wower!
I live in accordance with my wishes
Sorry I forgot to do the dishes...
Swearing is fun, you fucking bitches!
Sometimes I'm with it, sometimes I'm not
Endure the entropy of thought
Don't need your letters to label what I've got
A plus sign means it's ADD
It's only natural you see, and
I won't let it define me.
Further words now escaping me
So now I'm naming local trees
Betula nigra,
Pinus taeda
Quercus laurifolia
Liquidambar styrachiflua
Prunus caroliniana
Cornus florida
Acer rubrum
Juniperus virginiana
Malus angustifolia
Tilia americana
Parmotrema...
Wait that's a lichen.
Write a stanza and erase it 40 or 50 times
What am I trying to say?
Eraser smudges and rubber flakes all over the page:
a peppered marble gray
My pencil wanders over a sea of fog
I write words down anyway
Am I burnt out or do I have no time to think?
Do you ever wonder why your lemonade is pink?
Grab the auger, let's unclog the kitchen sink
Something's in my eye, so I blink, blink, blink!
Sometimes I'm in the zone for hours
Seeds that bloom typically flower
If not a winner, than a wower!

Sorry I forgot to do the dishes...
Swearing is fun, you fucking bitches!
Sometimes I'm with it, sometimes I'm not
Endure the entropy of thought
Don't need your letters to label what I've got
A plus sign means it's ADD
It's only natural you see, and
I won't let it define me.
"There's a lot to be said about a full-on frontal assault on the ear drums" - Pigfarmer Jr.
