The title I can grasp, but what does: 'bring the most interesting guest' mean?

You must have a guest performance on your track. That guest is supposed to be "the most interesting" that you can conjure. Up to you how you interpret it (as always.) Up to the judges to be as critical or accepting of your choice as they arbitrarily decide (as usual.)

I instantly had an idea but Caravan Ray beat me to it.

It’s unlikely we will hear a better song than that in this round. Thanks for sharing that gem. Never heard it before.

Usually the guest has to do vocals but there is no mention this time of what the guest is supposed to do. Is that on purpose or is that an accidental omission?

Well since Ray shared that link, I didn't want to go with the obvious connection to Minecraft by doing a song about a Minecraft dog. Lyrics are done though, Joe is working on the music, and I'm looking for a "guest". I think I got someone, but waiting on confirmation. If I get axed for the horrible children's song, there will at least be 1 shadow before I go quietly off into the sunset!

If I was a judge I would instantly give 0 points to anybody who rhymes "people" with "steeple". Also, damn you judges for giving us a title that ends in a word that perfectly rhymes with only one other word.

In with what I think is an interestIng guest appearance- My guest is an old voice teacher from a decade ago (and als the aubject of some of my Is this a joke to you? Entry). I used a clip of her singing as a rhythmic drone for the verses, and I put the first beat into a sampler for the choruses to make it one of the instruments in the texture (it’s the chipmonky sound). The clip itself was pulled from a lesson I had recorded in 2015; she’s demonstrating a breath technique by singing a phrase from a German art song all on one note. I hope the everyone else finds her as interesting as I did!

Aw, thanks Frankie! I do theoretically know the Sneaker Pimps, but haven’t listened closely. Will give ‘em a spin while I put these groceries away!

I haven’t been able to write reviews at all this year, but I want yall to know that I am very much enjoying the musical output. Particularly this round I really enjoyed FBF- it had a strong resemblance to Where You Are from Moana, and just dripping with joy. Really looking forward to seeing the results from this round!

Balance Lost - this is another one i feel is kind of samey throughout. Lyric wise i’m not sure the grandad part comes across. Can’t tell if you had a guest.


Berkeley Social Scene - the verse is catchier than the chorus. Huh i too am part of JHU in a manner of speaking. So i guess your guest is my colleague.


Bluechip Ashram - i enjoy the disco thing. The vocals are a little dodgy till the chorus. Can’t exactly tell whether you had guests?


Cavedwellers - so is this the kid that actually played the game? Most kids i know just looked at the cards. Anyway. The sound, theme, and vocals are aligned in this one.


Cybronica - the intro is amazing. Love the bass and the voice sample. Your demons are your teachers? dark.


Frankie Big Face - Al haha. I get it. This one is a lot of fun. The chorus is very good.


The Friends - so the challenge says to fill in with something other than a person. I suppose you think you’ve satisfied that because it’s plural people? No.


Glennny - a little weird you turned the title around even though you weren’t trying to rhyme it. The bridge part elevates this.


Kamakura - i feel like you are also trying to get by on a technicality. But a platoon is a group of people. I call foul. I do like your lyrics though.


MechaKarp - my favorite part is the 1025. I agree it’s pretty crazy there are two songs about pokemon. It’s well done although not quite to my taste. I’ll try not to let it sway my ratings.


Moss Palace - smooth. Really like the vocals and the musical parts together. A few of the lines are a little awkward but i love it anyway.


Spintown & Company - the vocal lines are sometimes kind of awkward. Where did you get a goat? Also not exactly my thing.


Starfinger - man, you’ve done well for yourself since i last checked. The bass and drum in the chorus are pretty great. Betterment haha. The main problem is the guest part isn’t real integral to the song.


The Ujn Corporation - i kinda wanted this to change up a bit. The blippy sample thing interspersed here and there makes it better. The vocal tone and the general genre don’t work as well together.


Brown Word and the Big Whine - paco? Elle? Anyway we get cicadas (brood x) and the sound is super weird so i like the use of the sample and the lyrical theme. The heavier part at the end is a nice changeup.


chewmeupspitmeout - that’s a heavy theme. The cohesion of the sample and the music is good, but i don’t feel the title requirement is met.
