I have to amend my choice to #2 as it turns out I might have a choir performance + wedding to attend on the 21st. (but if there’s a conflict Song Fight takes priority for me.)

Oops, I completely spaced out and forgot that we have tickets to Neil Young on Thursday, July 25th and the Stray Cats on Sunday, July 28th. So I'd like to update my preference to #1 after all. (Sorry!)

I'm 3, 2, 1.

Meaning either weekend is fine, I'd prefer the 26th & 27th, but it looks like everything is leaning to the 19th - 20th, which is fine.

It’s official: July 19 and 20 are booked!

Our space: Buntport Theater, https://buntport.com

Meaning rehearsal and performances are in the same place 🥳

Is it time for the tagline "blank and blank" ideas yet? :P

(also, nice job on the venue and planning! Glad to see the tradition live on again!)

I’ll be there from Wednesday until the following Tuesday, because that was the cheap flight days (so cheap that I got a first class ticket for the way home because that was still less than coach on any other day, and I deserve to be pampered).

I guess I should see what else there is to do there. Maybe I’ll take a trip down to Colorado Springs, as I know a few folks there.

Maybe! I have a friend who lives in Denver (and Eric's son goes to school there so maybe if he's willing....)

But I should ask. Is there any plan to have another online version as well? Those were fun too (but IRL is the best). Just a suggestion but if you wanted to do an online option, maybe do it Thursday night the 18th before the Friday/Saturday live shows, and that way the people at the live show could all meet and watch/host the virtual show together somewhere? If there's a virtual option, I'd almost definitely at least do that. But I know it's a lot of work. And so is the IRL! Thanks to Jeff and Leah!

I would have no interest in participating in both. Making a video is a lot of work and doing that while also preparing for the live show would be way more than I can handle.

If there were to be a separate online show it should be, like, a month away from the live show. It's not like there's any travel restrictions when it comes to doing it online anyway.

Also we try to do a live stream of the live show which is what works for folks who can't attend in person.

I will be arriving Thursday morning and exiting Saturday morning. I have a gig in Seattle Saturday night, but I can't miss this completely!

If it it helps, I'll be at the annual Ramjet release party on 20 July, tasting the latest batch of barrel aged stout from Boatrocker.

Attendance is looking really good, so we don't have the luxury of time, but Leah and I are thinking 20-minute sets with 5-minute gaps.

I also had a thought that since we have the venue all day, we could have a short lunch time acoustic show on Saturday.

I don't know the venue, so this may not be possible.
I find the best multi act shows I go to are ones where there is a side stage. So on the side stage one act plays while another act sets up on the main stage. Typically it's smaller acts that are just an acoustic guitar or a duo on the side stage. Once their set is done, the main stage band is set up and ready to go, very little down time for the audience.

What gear is available? I'm not going to be able to bring my guitar or amp. I'm bracing myself for renting.
Thanks!

Yeah, that works great, when there are two PAs, one for each stage, and two sound people, one for each stage. As somebody who's done sound or helped do sound for SFLs in the past, I at least wound up focusing on that more than on spectating and I got a little FOMO. I think it's a lot to ask of any one person let alone two people. Or were you volunteering to make it happen?

All good points Sam. I was just throwing it out there. Some places come with a sound guy, you know, like Starry Plough in Berkeley and Sidewalk Cafe in New York. Some places don't. I certainly don't expect it to be pulled off, but maybe someone knows a way to pull it off? I don't think you need different PAs, just microphones on the side stage. What is the sound guy situation? I'd love to help!
