Well...I could probably connect this to Minecraft easy. If I think of an idea I really like I'll shadow, but I'm not going to force anything.

Thank you, Sam! It always feels good to get a reaction like that to a song. It doesn't happen often! I just hope the judges feel the same way

Great showing from everyone. The standard is so high now. Good luck to all!

If your "Glass" includes a section that's predominantly in 7/4, you're the imaginary winner, in the bizarro alternate reality in which I am judging this contest. I really hope this isn't another week where my favorite gets eliminated! If your "Glass" includes a section that's predominantly in 5/4, you ranked in the top two on my imaginary list.

Congratulations to everyone for making the top 5!

Balance Lost - I was listening to king crimson before this, so i guess i’m primed for long prog rock songs. I do like this intro, a lot. Also all those different styles of guitars and how they work together. Vocal styling isn’t my favorite, but it definitely fits the style.

Cavedwellers - syntax/sin tax hah. The rhymes are fun. Nice reference to faraday too. Digging the solo. Musically i like it but i don’t love it.

Glennny - cool guitar sound. Another one where the vocals seem to get lost in the sounds… i like the sounds better than the vocals but i really wouldn’t be able to understand them without reading. I’m enjoying the sonics in the different parts.

Moss Palace - love the vocals. Sultry. I like the lushness of the arrangement. This one is pretty great.

Starfinger - hey alien zoo, eh? The vocal lines aren’t always smoothly flowing. Whazat guitar sounding thing? I like that. In the eye haha. Love the organy thing too.

Brown Word and the Big Whine - the changeup was a little jarring, would have liked a more organic change. I really like what the guitars do halfway through, like the “chasm” section. In general from a mix standpoint i think the lead vocal needs to stand out more. Messy and interesting.

The Friends - soundwise could use some mastering to make it sound less muffled. After cavedwellers, it’s a bit of a letdown that way. That bloopy dub sound is great. Sounds like your glass is a mirror.

Spintown & Company - puns groan! But cool. The flow isn’t always natural. I feel like there may be too many puns… maybe just too many with just glass? It doesn’t overstay its welcome though.

Thanks for the review. I was going to add a 3rd verse, but was running out of time, and decided this would probably be better short & sweet anyways.

Hey thanks for the review!! Now and always...and thanks everyone for all the reviews, and apologies for not being more active here on the boards, I meant to be, but this month has been a perfect storm of life going on at the same time there's a song challenge...I'm fairly proud of myself for even finishing any songs at all, much less 7. Yeah this mix was a little rushed, you are right about that. The bloopy dub is my favorite part. And yes, mirrors are glass, right? Glass are mirrors?

These are all great. This challenge was really hard for me.

* balance lost
This is epic and sounds good and is genuinely somehow catchy in addition to
being so complex.. great job! All your mixes have this gloss on them that I'm
not sure I like.. what is that?

* cavedwellers
this is really good, though i'm generally averse to things that sound so
earnest (it's not you, it's me). the extended jammy bridge is great.

* glennny
i love that percolating phaser thing in the beginning and throughout. i
can't make out what you're saying for the most part. the arrangement is
interesting and i'm really enjoying the whole thing.

* moss palace
this transitions through time signatures so naturally, it just boggles my mind.
it's just super great. i love that hooky melody.

* starfinger
i wrote three songs this week trying to figure out time signatures, and this
was the best one.

* brown word
this is wonderful.. makes me think of the flesh eaters in parts, and the vocal
sample takes it to another weird place. lots of surprises.

* the friends
i love this western dub mashup you got going on. really compelling!

* spintown
this is well done, as far as minecraft raps go, I guess!
