Valley Highway
by The Idiot Kings
Sun beating down on Öxi,
Fighting the chill of the breeze
Hænubrekkufoss continues to quench
Nearby rivers with ease
This valley highway
Is unlike anything I’ve ever seen
A different world
That lives within our own seas
I will never forget
Being here with you
The spell was broken by the boarder’s call,
Could they feed the dog some different food?
Brought back to reality,
But nothing could spoil this view
I will never forget
Being here with you

Re: Valley Highway
Sockpuppet
It is time for me to go
Down the newly open road
I am grateful for how I have
Had some of the best times of my life
Looking to the setting sun
Looking out for number one
Half a life is better than
Having never lived a life at all
Here we are
In the valley of my dreams
Time to fly
And live up to my means
In the desert stormy skies
Where my former passion lies
Chasing down a memory of
Better times and times left yet to come
Fix my broken wings right up
Because it’s long past time for me to fly
Here we are
On the highway of my dreams
Time to fly
And live up to my means
I remain so grateful for some
Of the best times of my life
I remain so grateful for some
Of the best times of my life
It is time for me to go
Down the newly open road
I am grateful for how I have
Had some of the best times of my life
Looking to the setting sun
Looking out for number one
Half a life is better than

Valley Highway - Frankie Big Face
Stalled on the side of the valley highway
Occasional passersby eyeing me sideways
They don’t know what I’ve been through
They never laid their eyes on you
Baking in the sun since early Friday
Mildly hallucinating and singing “My Way”
Well past the point of our rendezvous
So what’s another day or two
And oh by this time
I thought you’d be along for the ride
I thought I would be by your side
Heading toward the shoreline
And all of this time
The sand, the surf, the ocean tide
Exist in another place and I’m
Long long forgotten
Along along this rotten
Valley highway
Making friends with the scorpions and the crows
They see the signs and know which way the wind blows
They can tell you how this story ends
They don’t waste their time with pretend
The sun, the moon, the stars, the lost horizon
It’s hard to know just what to set your eyes on
The sweet embrace or the bitter end
One last hurrah and then begin again
And oh by this time
I thought you’d be along for the ride
I thought I would be by your side
Heading toward the shoreline
And all of this time
The sand, the surf, the ocean tide
Exist in another place and I’m
Long long forgotten

Valley Highway

So long, Denver, it's been good to know ya
Could've sung better, hope to come back to show ya
Maybe next time I can stay twice as long
Maybe next time I will finish a song
So now I'm turning onto the Valley Highway
Seven hundred miles, maybe next time I'll fly away
Gotta get started on my ten hour drive back home
Gotta head east away from the great divide
So long to the Valley Highway
So long and goodbye!
So long, Denver, I've met some damn good people
In a dry place where smoke is finally legal
I wasn't here long but I had a real good time
Grateful for the memories, glad that I have mine
So now I'm turning onto the Valley Highway
Seven hundred miles, maybe next time I'll fly away
Gotta get started on my ten hour drive back home
Gotta head east away from the great divide
So long to the Valley Highway
So long and goodbye!
So long, Denver, maybe I'll be back
I dropped a pin on the google map
I'd be lying if I said I wanted to stay
But I hope that I can make it back some day
So now I'm turning onto the Valley Highway
Seven hundred miles, maybe next time I'll fly away
Gotta get started on my ten hour drive back home
Gotta head east away from the great divide
So long to the Valley Highway
So long and goodbye!

Re: Valley Highway
Valley Highway (LW|RG)
Valley Highway, midnight
Underneath the overpass
Peculiar women gather
Dressed for a black mass
I know you hear ‘em calling
You feel it in your veins
It's pure temptation
When the devil calls your name
Little sister don't you go
Little sister don't you go
Run with the witches
You ain't never coming home
Valley Highway, midnight
Underneath the overpass
There are sinister intentions
In the way these ladies dance
Shadows around a fire
A prayer made to the moon
Please don't listen
When the devil calls for you
Little sister don't you go
Little sister don't you go
Run with the witches
You ain't never coming home
Black smoke in your lungs
Devil’s got a silver tongue
Underneath the Valley Highway
Something wicked this way comes
Valley Highway, midnight
Underneath the overpass
Peculiar women gather
Dressed for a black mass
I know you hear ‘em calling
You feel it in your veins

Verse1
Driving down the valley highway
Thinking of you night and day
Miles of endless road behind me
White lines spelling out your name
Chorus:
Valley Highway brings back memories of you
Every mile I drive reveals another clue
Valley Highway brings back memories so fine
When I was yours and you were mine
Verse2
Do you remember July in Denver
When we danced beneath the stars
Music loud through open windows
Kissing pressed against my car
Chorus:
Valley Highway brings back memories of you
