Funny. Especially judging a site with the amount of material generated by Sf on one or two songs... silly fazers.

How many unpleasant songs in a row from the front page would you expect someone to listen to before they came to the conclusion that the odds of finding something that they will like are low enough that they can just stop listening to anymore songs? If I got like 5 bad songs in a row, I'd not want to listen anymore either; There have been weeks where I have listened to whole fights that haven't done a thing for me.

Granted, saying things like "They need better songs" isn't the nicest way to say it, but it still means "I didn't like any of the songs I listened to, and I don't want to keep listening to songs like those anymore."

True. However, WE know otherwise. So dude is entitled to that observation, limited as it is, and I'm entitled to mock him for not seeing this for what I see it for... and that's fine. I think the comment "let's see you do better" is far more relevant than dude gave it credit though...this is a one week competition by working folk who are experimental, risky and artistic. Dismissing the work because it doesn't compare to his media-infused references is lame... even if it's "justified".

As in, quite defending that weiner.. he doesn't get it, and probably voted for the pope.

I'm not defending him, I trying to make the point that an excess of sucky songs make people not want to search out the good ones.

Sorry. That's true.

And his loss, in my opinion...
Of course, I gave "fazed" only a cursory view, so I guess we're even...

Well, Song Fight has never really been for the casual music listener.

It's for artists and a certain type of music fan who is really keen on listening to new things. Or has a very low threshold for liking stuff.

But most people aren't going to get what they want from SF, until radio collapses and goes back to its origins, and trains up another generation of people who want to explore.

What a beautiful dream. It'll never happen. Damn you Britney, Korn, 50 Cent and Simple Plan.

exactly. Most of us avid fans are actually musicians ourselves. You can attribute our patience and love of variety to this fact. You have to take the good with the bad and there you have...

Niveous, Korn rocks do0d. Remember, JUST because it's on the radio doesn't mean it automatically sucks.

Like, what he said, but instead of history, like, have it be MUSIC.

I have no problem with Korn at all. But Korn's existence helped create the horrible nu metal genre and spawned bands like Limp Bizkit and Saliva. So I have no problem with Korn just the Kornbred (with the exception of Deadsy ).

I think most people are looking at this site as if it were a battle of the bands and not a gathering of artists. Some of the crappiest music I have ever heard is on here and some of the best. I have probably learned more from the the former.
