Happy 2025!
Maybe I'm posting this a little early but whatevs, year delineations are a social construct anyway.
How did 2024 go for everyone, and what do they hope to accomplish in 2025?
Personally I've blogged about it, as usual.

Last year's similar thread for anybody who posted goals there and wants to look back:

I'm doing some reflecting on the past year and thinking about the new year, will post something in a couple days.

Re: Happy 2025!
Offhand though my biggest goal for 2024 was to finally get a replacement front tooth and I was able to do that in June. That's been a big relief. There were more ridiculous minor foibles and delays at the very end finally getting the crown (the part that is the visible tooth part) and it wound up happening 6 weeks later than it was supposed to, which pushed the total time I'd spent without my right front tooth over 4 years. But what's a few more weeks compared to 4 years I guess?

Re: Happy 2025!
Good news everyone! The official JB moratorium on Classic Rock has been extended for yet another year!
You know how people when they quit eating meat say they have this invigorated feeling and more energy and whatnot? That’s me with classic rock. And you know how ppl (like me) are all like “bullshit” to those ppl. That is basically everybody else when they hear about my moratorium.
Here’s to avoiding Led Zeppelin IV in 2025!

Re: Happy 2025!
Yeah, count me as one of those people who are all like "bullshit" to you.
I just heard Led Zeppelin's "The Rain Song" on the radio the other day, after not having heard it for years. It's a freaking masterpiece! But classic rock is wildly hit and miss for me. I don't remember the next song that came on but I hated it and had to change the station.
Some highlights of 2024 for me were:
- Song Fight Live in Denver!
- the final XOXO festival, in Portland
- winning Nur Ein for the second time
- driving back down to the SF Bay Area a few times to see folks and play music
- having a bunch of visitors here, including Glenn and Rachael who were here on Erin's birthday
- seeing a bunch of concerts (favorites were LCD Soundsystem, Belle and Sebastion, and Soul Coughing)
- going to Crater Lake and taking the 5-hour boat tour that includes a 2-hour stop on Wizard Island
- getting my fake front tooth!
The low lights were:
- round 2 of COVID for me (Erin didn't get it, fortunately) followed by pneumonia that had me sick for like 6 weeks
- a fire about a half mile from our neighborhood that lead to us having to grab JJ and evacuate (stressful but fortunately our neighborhood was ok)
I guess I need to carry over all my 2024 goals, minus getting a tooth:
- improve physical and mental health care (get better sleep, get more exercise, get a primary care physician, and possibly a couple other doctors)
- read more (I got yet more books for Christmas again in 2024)
- keep making stuff
- travel more (we want to go to Greece!)

Re: Happy 2025!
Some of the then-current bands you grew up with are likely to be considered "classic rock" now.
I remember feeling very strange when I was listening to the classic rock station and Soundgarden came on.

Re: Happy 2025!
Man I love classic rock! More classic rock in 2025! And make it 70s classic rock while you're at it. Yacht rock? Give me a tsunami!

Re: Happy 2025!
Apparently some people think Journey, U2, and Bryan Adams are classic rock, judging by this music discord community I’m on

Re: Happy 2025!
By every reasonable definition, yes, I'm just hoping to find something that makes JB have to reevaluate his personal ban on classic rock

In what universe is Bryan Adam’s classic anything? He is an annoying little soapy tit wank.
