Re: My Life
I've been making some headway into pivoting to music as my full-time career but it's feeling difficult to get other people to care about it. But I'm plugging along and making music because the alternative is not making music, which feels worse. How about you?

That's awesome stuff, fluffy.
I'm not turning music into money, but I'm still making it.
Right now I am processing stress or something like that by being a screamy band and using naughty words a lot in everyday life.

Re: My Life
Good question.
Word of mouth is super important. My big difficulty has been finding an audience. I've been making headway into that by performing in VRChat a lot. But even then my reach is very limited. But it's growing.
I did write a blog post about what success looks like to me a while back.

Re: My Life
Those of you who see me on facebook might be aware of some recent happenings but I realized just now that I hadn't really shared and thought it might be good for me to do so.
First off, I'm very much okay and feeling very blessed. I always wondered at those tv interviews where the guy who just had his home hit by a tornado said he felt blessed. I mean, yeah, lucky not to be dead, but.. blessed?
Well, on Easter Sunday, 20 April, we had an EF1 tornado hit at the recycling facility I supervised for the City. The first two minutes of this video has some quality drone footage of the facility the day after the event:

The blessed part is that all of us that were employed there have 40 hours a week guaranteed by the city. We aren't all doing the things we want but none of us will starve. I've actually been quite busy getting information and trying to find a way to stop landfilling all of our recycling. Hopefully I'll have a solution in a couple of weeks. I'm still working on it.
On top of that, one of my reassigned employees failed to show up to his new assignment after a day or two. Unfortunately city government bureaucracy added up to me not realizing for nearly a week. When I went to his apartment to check on him I knew immediately something was very wrong. A wellness check found him deceased due to a self inflicted gunshot. He was acting very positive at work but we learned later that he had a lot of health issues (as well as mental issues) that contributed to his lack of wellbeing. It's true that people pretend to be well. None of us had any indication that this was a possibility.
All that to say, I feel extremely lucky, a little guilty and a little overwhelmed. While I have sporadic insomnia, I'm in a relatively good place all things considered. Thanks to everyone for being part of songfight (and Nur Ein.) It has been great to be part of something creative and "normal." (whatever that means.)
