Past Song Fighter releases a sweet distortion pedal

Post by Lunkhead »

An old friend and past Song Fighter, Ryan, designed and released a really excellent distortion pedal called the "DAD250+". He's selling it on his Reverb store here:

https://reverb.com/item/91665272-progre ... 2025-white

It's a riff on the classic DOD 250 distortion pedal, with some added different clipping modes, providing a huge range of tone options.

You can check out a lengthy review/demo of Ryan's pedal, on the YouTube channel 60 Cycle Hum here. Watch the review if you want to hear what the pedal sounds like.

I've got one and am enjoying it very much.

Neat, which former Song Fighter? I've already got a million (and one) DOD250s but it's always nice to see someone else interested in building things...

His name is Ryan, he was in a few different Song Fight "bands" with a few songs back in the 00's and he's an occasional participant in some Berkeley Social Scene songs.

Ah, so, 60 Cycle Hum had the pedals made... I thought maybe it was just another pedal review video, I didn't watch it. ;)

It actually is just another review video, from 60 Cycle Hum, but it is a review of our friend Ryan's pedal, in which you can hear how it sounds. Ryan designed the pedals and had them manufactured, after going through an initial development process of design and home prototyping iterations. (I guess the 60 Cycle Hum guy's name is _also_ Ryan, but, the Ryan we're talking about is not him, it's a different Ryan, one that we actually know, in case there was any confusion around that.)

the DAD250 actually looks enticing. I'm gonna wait to see if I have black friday spending sprees before blowing my extra cash on a pedal I won't use much but it may be a Monday purchase.

Songfighters are rocking the pedal world! First State Shirt and now this. Soon I'll be able to build a board of just Songfighter pedals!
