Somehow You Seem Gone - Machine Gun Fellatio Tribute album

Post by sausage boy »

Hi Songfight peeps.

A popular Aussie band, Machine Gun Fellatio (MGF) has recently broken up. As part of the 'healing process' a bunch of MGF fans (such as myself) have decided to make a tribute album as a goodbye.

You can find all the relevant details at http://home.iprimus.com.au/mattblee/mgf ... ute01.html

I am posting this here, just in case anyone here is an MGF fan and wants to contribute. I realise that it is pretty late, but hey... better late than never!

That's so sad. I love MGF (Unsent Letter was the first song I learned how to play on guitar and sing at the same time). One in a thousand chance I might get time to do something for this.

Yes, it is sad. But at the moment, three members have gone off and formed brand new bands. The Bryan Ferrysexual Experience, Loveshark and the Stoner Funk Orchestra, and The Ping Pong Accident.

Just in case you were interestred, the due date was today. The print material for the album is still being organised, so if you want to include a track, tracks will continue to be accepted between now and when the artwork is finalised. As for when the artwork is finalased, its a 'it happens when it happens' kind thing, so you have to be somewhat quick.

Sorry to revive an almost pointless old thread, but fuck ya.

The album came out a little while ago, but it is now available to the general public. You can check it out here

I perform two songs, and help on a couple of others.

I don't want to spend $15 on a cover cd without at least hearing samples. This would be cool if they just put up mp3s.

I'll see if I can organise something.

In the meantime, on my old webspace you can hear my Mojo Pump'n entry.

Oh, and I should point out that there are unreleased and unfinished MGF songs on the CD too, that were kindly donated by the band.

I cut up some of the songs into 30 second teasers, and the webpage should be updated with them soon. In the meantime, you can listen to the teaser bits here if you are interested.
