Just thought I'd shout out with JOY that in 2 freaking days I walk away from my shitty job as a service manager for a car dealer and start training to be a piano technician from home, possible mobile recording as well, never to look under the hood of a stupid car again, or get my ass chewed out by some irate car owner..

60 hour work weeks can now officially KISS MY ASS.

   :D

i just hope you never break down anywhere, or need to change your oil or run out of washer fluid or need to jumpstart your battery or anything ever again. well, i mean i would hope that for anybody, but it would particularly suck if you refused to look under the hood...

doh! I meant to say, "under the hood of a customer's car". Mine I have no problem taking care of. :)

And yah, it's Volvo I'm working for, and no, they don't suck. I actually like the product, my beef is with the meatgrinder style of business automotive service typically is. I should write a book.

hahaha! You got me...I've spent so much face time with clients defending the product I couldn't help it. I'm brainwashed! part of my therapy will include repeating, "Your car is a piece of shit that I couldn't care less about." for 1 hour per day. :)

Whats also odd is that I was watching CNN the other day and they used Tampa as an example of large population growth coupled with expensive housing expansion. Could hardly believe it.

There IS a lot of development going on here in Tampa as well as the whole bay area. Everywhere I turn around I see new condos going up. Alot of businesses right now are selling out for ungodly amounts of money for condo developers. And a brand new condo building isn't cheap and it raises the property value of everything else around it as well.

Also, the way things are designed down here doesn't allow much room for not owning personal transportation either. I lived here in Tampa for several years without a car. However, this meant that if I wanted to see family across the bay I had to be real creative. Public transportation in both counties are relatively poor in comparison to other metropolitan areas of the nation. So it's very frustrating. Florida is not built UP as much as it is spread long and wide. I finally bought a car for my job duties at my last job. I still have it but my new job is still within biking distance even if it's still in another part of town.

I plan on moving away from here next year. I love it hear and I'm really going to miss it. But my cousin is moving to N. Carolina in a month anyways and I've been here for 6 years. I had only intended to be here for one.

Sorry for the small novel.

If I somehow fell bass ackward into a shitload of money (Come on Uncle Charlie, keep drinking and invest wisely!!!) I'd have my name on that order list. Then I'd take it walking to 7-11 to get a Pepsi.

I am pretty sure that's a rich-man's toy, hob, not meant to be a practical investment. Though I'm sure you could find some really great use for it, in some business (cost-effectiveness notwithstanding). Maybe as a mobile ladder, since it puts you 14ft up in the air.

If they could get it up to, say, 10mph, as opposed to 1.5kmph (that's less than 1mph, I believe), I could justify it to myself. If I were really rich, anyway. I think the material strength/mechanical power/stability issue is probably going to make that unlikely for a very long time.
(It's ASL for "cow".)
