Words can not begin to say how fuckin' cool all you guys are for doing such an awesome thing. I'm definitely in for a CD. In the next couple of days or so. Very cool. And it would be something I could play for all my friends who don't understand SF and be able to hear some of the finest musicians in the indie internet music scene. 8)

(yanked from glenn's thread on this topic in the other forum)

As for IPCAL, I've wondered why the specific focus on tsunami aid. I'm sure most of these charities are worldwide, but all indications I've seen have been that the affected area has received more money proportional to need than most other places in the world at this point.

I'm damn impressed with the preview tracks, though.

And needless to say, guys, this is totally awesome, and I will so be on board. I think even my mom is doing it. (awwww)

Can I buy a charity CD (or other product) and send you the receipt from that?

Yes! However, the organization selling that product must donate 100% of the purchase price to the cause. No skimming, no shipping, no "handling" charges, no nothing. You're most likely to find products such as this in a retail store, or downloadable items, such as <a href="http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/fontaid/fl ... >"Fleurons Of Hope" by Font Aid. We have confirmed that MyFonts.com is absorbing all banking and other costs associated, so that 100% of the purchase price for "Fleurons Of Hope" goes to the DirectAid tsunami charity.

If you have suggestions for other charity products that meet our requirements, please let us know and we'll check them out. Perhaps we'll make a list!

This thread has been conspicously empty/quiet. Is no-one interested in this awesome CD? Or helping people?! Or hearing a 6-and-a-half minute piece of prog-rock bombast by Frankie Big Face?!?!

I mean, come on people!

(just curious--all the other threads have lots of posts)

There was a hiccup in the replication process. Should be arriving any day now. Of course I just jinxed it.

Ken gets the second CD.

Has this CD's hiccups gone away yet? I still haven't got mine.

Waiting for the inserts to arrive, then the first batch will be going out. Unless the UPS truck crashes, you should have yours early next week.

First Batch? Wow, that sounds really bad. How long has this whole thing been waiting?

Having heard the saga of getting these CDs produced first-hand, I now have great sympathy for Mr. Nolt (may be time to take "Thanks Melodie!" off the website).

However, having heard the album (it pays to live within walking distance of the producer), I can assure you it is worth the wait. I've had the Glenn Case song stuck in my head all morning and the new ADD and Frontalot tracks are pretty awesome. Not to mention Carol Cleveland Sings and the bookended Kissing Contest and Brandon Patton tracks, all of which rule.

Go give some charity $10 already--this is a great CD.

are there many CDs left? i mean: how long do you anticipate your supply to last? i really really want one but i've been spending all my money on stupid stuff like food, and new toilets and sinks and floor tiles and paint and stuff. (well that was just yesterday, but you get the idea).

mainly i'm asking, will i be able to pick one up in maybe a month from now?

Mine came today; it looks very sleek and professional. Major bonus points for the shiny cover art. Haven't even had a chance to rip the tracks yet, but I'm excited! Thanks to all who made this possible!

I got mine yesterday. Lots of great tracks, and certainly worth $10.

Browse the CD, the tracks are pre-ripped and sitting in a folder all nice and ID3'ed and everything at a high bit-rate.

The autoplay should let you play the MP3's by clicking on the track listed on the page in your browser (there's also a "stream all" link to an m3u), and the artist's name link should take you to their site. If it all works like it's supposed to work (worked in my testing at least).
