Hi gang, the show is now less than three weeks away, and there is a lot of information scattered around. I'm putting stuff here that everyone who is coming needs to know about, as soon as possible. The main thread is huge and I'm afraid that vital stuff will get lost or missed.
Please do not reply in this thread! I think that it would be very helpful to keep it as uncluttered as possible.
1. If you are coming, please say so in this thread! Give a band name and a home town. It will only take a second- guest posting is okay so you don't even have to bother to register. Please do so whether or not you plan to actually perform. If you fail to do so, you may find yourself left off of the schedule and/or promotional materials. I don't mean to be callous but I have a shitload of stuff to worry about and I really do appreciate if y'all make things as easy as possible for me.
I understand that some folks aren't sure yet and/or are still trying to scratch up enough scratch to get themselves to the east coast. Just try to keep me up to date because I do have deadlines to work with.
Currently at 24 confirmed artists.
2. Two scheduling issues. First: if you are not going to be able to attend part of the show, make sure you let me know when you are available, so I don't schedule your band to play when you aren't there. I know boltoph has another gig on Friday night but that's the only conflict that I am aware of right now.
Second: The "standard" set time for the evening shows will probably be 25 minutes each, though I may have to cut this down a little bit. This time includes your set-up and un-set-up so if you can't just walk up on stage and grab a guitar and go, you will have to take that into account. You can safely expect that there will be at least three or four guitars, a bass or two, a couple of keyboards, a drum kit, a couple of line jacks to plug in a laptop/cd player/midi module/ipod/whatever, and at least two or three vocal mikes, all just waiting for you to play them. If you need to set up anything unusual, that's on your time, but feel free to PM me if you have really odd requirements. We'll probably be able to rig something for ya.
I am currently soldering together a multimedia bonanza to accompany my own rendition of "Shut Up and Sit Down" and I am not afraid to turn it on if you go over your time.
If you are willing to take less time, please send me a PM and let me know. Scheduling is gonna be tight, and every few minutes will help. I'm not asking people to make sacrifices here, there is time for everyone. I'm only trying to get a handle on whether or not you really want to only do a couple of songs.
If you think you deserve more time, well, you'd probably better make a really strong case for it. (pretend there was still a nevada icon here)
The acoustic set times are likely to be somewhat longer. I will be sending out some private messages to the people who said they were interested in doing this, probably later tonight. If you want to do this it ain't too late to let me know.
edited 8/1: both parts of #3 seem to be taken care of, yay!
3. I am looking for volunteers to handle videography and promotional materials. Here are more details. Tee-shirts, especially, seem to have about a two week lag period, unless you want to pay exorbitant rush fees that I can not afford, so this probably needs to get done within the next week.
Questions? Please put them in the main concert thread, or the special concert forum, whatever seems more appropriate to you.
Thank you!
love,
ben.

tonetripper - In and want to play for 15 minutes. Three tunes essentially. I'm thinking about maybe getting into some kind of tune with Boltoph, but we haven't discussed that too extensively. As I may be hanging with B while I'm in Boston I may not be there the Friday evening as I'm staying at a place he's house-sitting at and may be easier to go to his show then to the place. This is totally undecided at this point. Sorry about the havering, but I'm trying to work out these details with him. Playing it by ear about the Friday night, but I'm definitely coming to play and hang with all you cats.

Let cake eat them.
New updates.
1. I have tossed together an info page with all the basic information about the show that I could think of this early in the morning. This would be a good place to direct strangers, major news media, etc. Y'all should check it out anyways to make sure I didn't forget something, and to bask in the glory of my highly original web design.
2. We still have some serious equipment deficiencies! The details are here. The vague summary is that we need more stands to put things on. Mikes, music, guitars. Another small guitar amp (or two) would also be very nice. I realize that these are not easy things to travel with, so this is mostly for the local folks, but I will be very upset if I have to go out and buy half a dozen mike stands next Friday morning.

Here is a preliminary schedule for next weekend. Please take a look and make sure that I didn't forget you, or put you in at a time when you won't actually be there. Don't carve this particular schedule into your forearms with a rusty knife, because it will probably have to be changed a few times. I'll happily listen to any complaints and change requests, though I may well just laugh at you and not do anything. That's no reason not to ask, though!
This is kinda tight- the most room to play with is on Friday, if you need to move around a little. Almost everyone on Saturday night is there because at least part of their band won't be available on Friday. There ain't too much extra space in the Saturday afternoon area, but if you really want to do an acoustic kinda thing, there is no reason why you can't do it at the other shows. So don't worry!
A couple of people have told me that they are still not sure if they'll be able to make it or not-- y'all don't worry; I can still squeak another act or two in. If you come to the show planning to play (and I know that you're coming and planning to play) you won't get screwed. Much. You still get to sleep with strangers, though, that's part of the Boston experience!
Sets ain't all exactly the same amount of time. That's based mostly on what people have said over the past month or two, but, you know, things change, and if you need a few more (or a few less) minutes, let me know.
I know fluffy is on there twice, but they are both short sets, so it adds up okay enough. He has to go first to offset some of that, too! So there! I mean, someone's gotta. I know Saturday night is starting later than originally planned, that is so we have enough time for dinner and a romantic walk on the beach between sets.

LAST MINUTE INFO!
Okay, I know it's not quite the last minute yet, but I am leaving work and probably won't be around a computer much until the show starts. So if anyone needs to reach me you will have to do it by cell; my cell phone number is all over the place on the other board and the info page and stuff.
Here's my schedule for the next few days, which you might possibly need to know. Tomorrow I am planning to be at JamSpot for basically the whole day, noon to midnight. Friday I will be there from noon to about five, after which I am going to the city club to set up for the show. Y'all come by and practice whenever, or just hang out.
DO NOT BRING BOOZE TO THE PRACTICE SPACE. I know, it's not really a band practice without cheap liquor, but they are pretty antsy about this. And there are like fourteen bars within sneezing distance, so I'm sure you'll cope. Don't bring booze to the City Club either; it's like going to the movies: they want you to buy their popcorn so they don't like it when you bring your own. Only instead of popcorn, think sweet, sweet beer.
Schedule of performers: Is basically not going to change much. At this point I haven't heard back from Johnsonic so I don't even know if he's coming at all. I may have to switch him with someone later on Friday night. If he's not coming (and nobody surprises us with a last minute appearance) I'll probably just bump the show start forward to about 7:15ish. And nobody else has reported a problem with their time, which I think is damn groovy. Other than that, I guess the schedule is pretty much as is; I will try and get a final schedule up within the next 24 hours or so.
Everyone travel safe, see y'all soon!
