Somehow I don't think Gilmore would stoop to it

Since we're on the Floyd rant channel - isn't U2 essentially PF without chops writing love songs?

I don't know where this came from

I was wondering about this too. Seems like Hans Grüber has disappeared. eh..er...I hope he's not another victim of the needle...

but man...Coldplay is SO "late Pink Floyd", without chops or edge, playing love songs in the style of U2....

And U2 is so Pink Floyd without chops, playing love songs (most of the time, less gems like "Bullet the Blue Sky", which remind of "Meddle")...

At this point, 2007 would be great. I'm afraid I'm out: Quitting my job, in over my head with freelance work, and Jury duty on the due date. (I think I suggested Sept. 12). I haven't touched guitar, keyboard, no nothin' for a couple o' months.... :(

I did start 'I Talk to the Wind', and I have every intention of finishing it, as it's coming out pretty well...I'm bringing just a little funk to it. Hopefully I can start recording sometime next year.

Good news is, I may have a new job in a recording studio

Please carry on without me...I'd love to hear the results despite my unparticipation.

Oh, and Boltoph, thanks for the umlaut. I don't even bother...

I know we have had definitions to death and lots of band/songs suggested but as I just found this thread can I ask if some Wishbone Ash would qualify? Not sure I am up for covering the Trilogy from Argus but maybe a tributey Blowing Free would be fun? If it helps I will find a way to throw in a few riffs from The King will come :D

Stueym - I can't help but think of you doing ELP's "Lucky Man". With a pennywhistle solo instead of Emerson's. Just a thought...

Oh and a good one!!!!

It's just all that Wishbone double lead get's me feeling quite dreamy (or queezy!...hmmm let me just go play Live from Chicago and I'll get back to you............Wow it was dreamy and queezy, but I think that was too much red wine from last night :D)

Will listen to ELP LM again when I get back off the road.

So...uh...did I totally drop the ball on this? Now it's a crowded season and progfight has no (responsible) sponsor. I'd love to pick this up after new years if there's any interest left.

I'm still interested...even though I dropped out of the last two sidefights I should've been involved in, because of holiday clamour. I had mean production ideas for this prog fight and I was hell-bent on gettin-r-done.

After New Years works well for me. I'll have time then. thanks for picking this up, Roy.

-.-- -.-- --..

freakin' sweet. can't wait to hear it.

I'm still on the fence about this one. There's a few prog tunes I'd love to take on, but I can't bring myself to commit yet. Maybe in the cold month of December I'll dig out the old Genesis vinyl and see about it.
