so this weekend i finished my 4th album a day. the most challenging one yet, but the best one i think.
it started out as just a guitar & violin instrumental album, but somehow i created a song for this weeks
Honeymoon in Polynesia out of nowhere.

started around 1am Sunday morning and finished around 3am monday morning.. so 26 hours, big deal.
i blame it on the NBA playoffs in TNT.

Severely angry at myself for falling short of the goal....

At least I got to go see the new Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy flick, and enjoyed it.

Heh!

That was an intentional throw-away track, and I figured no one was going to like it. Hell, I didn't even care for it seconds after being done recording, but I was angry for not meeting the AAD goal.

Funny how that works. Glad you like it.

ROCK!

Jesus you make good AADs. PLi79 and FM'sDiMBF'sA are my favorites; great sound design on the latter. Also surprisingly serious (hence the title, I suppose). Maybe I'm just used to Tiny Paws of Fury. Good stuff, J.

I really dig the intro, the way this funky beat creeps up on you.
This song is just all around great. I dig the ebat, the Cake-ish trebly guitar, the groovy bassline, and the lyrics. "His kidneys kicked him in the kidneys." Awesome.
A tough listen, but the story (which I don't understand) is really intriguing.

Often it's easy to critique an AAD negatively. It's rare that compliments flow so naturally.

Thanks guys!

Puce - yeah, it's different from TPoF - it was going to be a third TPoF but the mood didn't really take me :)

There's a little bit of the original TPoF idea left in the titles. I was going to come up with song titles by melding together classic third album titles - Man is an Average Machine - is Kraftwerk's Man-Machine and OK Computer put together, The London Times They Are A'Calling, The Clash & Bob Dylan .... I ran out of good ones, got frustrated and this is the result :)

I'm pretty chuffed with the way it came out, for the most part. Maybe I'll do a TPoF later in the week ....

8LO, As for 'Forging...' well it's a litle piece of autobiography. As usual, I subconsciously obscure my personal pieces - I am way too private, obviously! Everything on that song is played live, one take (except the bass)

:)

I've put all three of my AADs on a single page

Streams, lyrics, artwork and in the case of the Six Six Sixties, a bonus track - 'hit you with a brick' recorded one evening a while back for the guitar orchestra sidefight ...

So on Saturday I did another AAD - in 'honour' of my 100 songs I chose my 10 favourite songfight titles from before I found songfight. However I ended up only using 9. Go figure.

it's a neat mix between all out garage punk and kooky weirdy pop songs and it's a concept album. There may be other AAD concept albums but I'd wager this is the first one about transexual gay incest murder triangles.

Image

1. Man of the Year 1.20
2. Experimental Fashion 2.14
3. Dad, I'm changing 3.58
4. It's Invisible 1.46
5. Totally Digging Yr Mom 3.08
6. Why Are You Making Me Kick You Out? 2.53
7. Dinner for One 2.09
8. Stuck Down A Mineshaft 2.35
9. I Was Only Joking 2.38

STREAM ALL

LYRICS

The unused 10th song title was, of course, 'Husky Youth'.

Now there's a thought to ponder (no point using a small font btw. your rep's quite safe here). I like the manip you did on your self portrait for the cover.

I'll potter off and have a listen.

Fantastic. Or do I mean fantasick.

I would really like to hear this if you spent the time and produced it properly, which is obviously not the brief for an ADD.

Great stuff mate.

I finally got around to listening to blue's AAD. I recommend "Playing D&D At the Local Library."

Also I'm halfway through "A Case of Octothorpe." It is fantastic. "Dog Boy Hits the Skids" is great, and Bite Size and Rainy Day are pretty cool too.

I did one of these once, but it's not on the internet so you'll all just have to never hear it! It's called Texas Messes. It's really good too, probably one of the better releases of '04.
