Roadkill is common around where I am. Not a night goes by where somebody doesn't hit a roo. Kangaroos, popularised as a Aussie icon, truly are one of cars natural predators. Roos can total a car, and if your car gets totalled by a roo, I think it is only fair you should be able to eat it. Its not actually legal, i think, to eat some roo you hit, but still. It should be considered.

Strangely, the Hilltop Hoods are from around here, too. Australias only great true hip-hopers. I don't mind Butterfingers, though.

If I recall, Moistboys have a bunch of songs that use the work nigga. I think it can be used in a constructive or appropriate way, but I think PiGPENs song is not one of these. I have no reason to care either way, we have enough trouble getting a regular amount of water over here, let alone flood levels, so I can be a bit more objective. I can see clearly what PiGPEN is trying to do, and clearly see that he hasn't pulled it off at all. And believe me, I know how not to pull something off. I'm the king.

You shouldn't eat Koalas, as they are apparently quite tough. Koalas climb a lot of trees, and have a lot of muscle. Koalas = inedible.

Some Aussie farmers only eat meat they have killed themselves. The few I have met, they are often out Roo Shooting (do i need to explain!?) as, for farmers, roos are considered a pest. So you shoot a roo, and take it home and eat it. Hmmm, yummy national animal. These farmers always look quite healthy, even during droughts and stuff. I think this is possibly the Ted Nugent diet at work. Oh, and rabbit, they also trap and eat a lot of rabbit.

Yes - I forgot Butterfingers - Butterfingers don't suck - and they're straight outta Brisbane if my memory serves me well.

I was told by some Murri friends in western Queensland that goanna is the best bush-tucker you can find. You grab them by the tail then smash their heads open on the bull-bar of the car - then chuck them on a fire. Tastes like chicken....probably.

There are little green ants in Nth Qld that you can eat live and they taste like lemongrass. I've eaten them live, but I've also had them served up dead on a steak in a fancy Brissy restaurant. Weird getting served food intentionally covered in insects

not to sound like an idiot, but does australia even have black people? it seems like it's pretty much all white to me. so there wouldn't be much reason for the word "nigger'' to exist there.

correct me if i'm wrong (which i probably am).

but was the word "nigger" popular there. that's what i wanted to know. i was always under the impression that it was used strictly in america for anyone of african descent.

zing. I guess. The whole historical argument is silly though... really, the current citizens of the USA did not steal the current african decended citizens...that happened hundreds of years ago. If your grandpa murdered someone, should you be held responsible for that action? I think not... but this is an opinion kinda thing...so maybe you think otherwise.

If you wish to be offensive to a Koori, Murri or Torres Strait Islander, then "boong" would probably be your word of choice. Likewise "Abo" is probably the most widely used term, but it is usually used in a denigrating way. "Black c*nt" seems to be popular with many of our professional footballers and cricketers.

The Government likes to use the very clumsy "Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander" - label or even "ATSI". Blackfellas themselves tend to refer to themselves as "blackfellas" or "our mob". The polite name for white people to use is either "Koori" (or "Murri" if you are in Queensland), or TSI for islanders.

"nigger" and "coon" are nowdays fairly archaic - still used occaisionally, mainly by older people - a left over from the old British Empire use of the words.

There was a controversy a while ago about a sporting ground in Toowoomba which was to be called The Nigger Brown Oval. Mr Brown was apparently an old loacal footbal star whose nickname was "Nigger" (in the way that people named White may be nicknamed "Snowy", or Smalls, "Biggie"). Aboriginal groups were appalled - but the local whites argued "it's not racist - Nigger Brown wasn't even an Abo...". I don't know how that one turned out.

Young people who watch Americal television probably use the word "Nigger" a lot. They also tend to wear there hats backwards and have baggy trousers.

HAve you seen this new series Rome yet? It's bloody fanatastic... and a very good point is raised in it. During a documentary about it's making, an actress pointed out that western culture is STEEPED in christianity and christian values. We forget that cultures like that of ancient Rome had a different value and moral system. Their gods were petty, and fought and squabbled and cheated and played tricks on people... it was not considered immoral or wrong to enslave another population...the idea was, if you won on the battlefield, you had a right to enslave the inferior.

So that's them. The way I see it, any true sports fan KNOWS that a win is really a subjective thing...everyone wins eventually, everyone loses. Sure, the proportion of that may swing one way or another...but it's just how it happens. Like UFC...even the champs can lose... so to have a moral structure based on dominance is ... kinda self defeating. It's gonna swing back on you. Never mind the illogical concept that skin tone will determine who is better at something...really, it only tells you one thing. The shade of the individual. Maybe on a hot summer day, or a frigid winter morning it may have some slight relevance, but other wise, pointless. However, if you open yourself up to that type of selective dominance... basically, you CHEAT a victory in your own mind based on retarded...
