Video games, etc.

Links and other hanky panky that doesn't have to do with anything in particular.

The best game ever made really was Full Throttle. I don't give two shits what anyone else says.

Yeah, D2 expansion is great. Druid alone is worth $20.

Oh, I'd be remiss if I didn't sound cool:

- Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen! 3. Fourth game coming in new year.
- Jump Superstars! One game is enough to make me want a DS.

Dunno about best game ever, but its bloody near there. Apparently there is a Full Throttle 2 in the works. I am still a Monkey Island man through and through.

Yeah, I'm pretty stoked myself. My desktop backgrounds have been pictures from Katamari Damacy for like 6 months, and the other day I finally changed them - to stuff from We ♥ Katamari.

It got cancelled. So did the new Sam and Max. Because apparently there's a little more milk in the Star Wars tit. Bastards.

I'm not too sad about Sam and Max being cancelled. I'm sick of how every damn game on the market now uses expensive bland 3D instead of cheap vibrant cel animation.

Unfortunately, the S&M game lives, as the team on the LucasArts project quit LucasArts and formed their own game company, which is now working on a sequel. In glorious crap-o-vision, if their recently-released Bone game is anything to go by.

Surprisingly, the press release about cancelling FT2 amounted to "We cancelled it because it was 'not living up to expectations' (read: crap)."

And I agree, really. All the preview stuff I saw for it was pretty dismal.

S&M: Freelance Police, on the other hand, was looking awesome, and its cancellation remains a mystery.

Revolution controller looks awesome. I'm excited.

Final Fantasy IV for GBA, hooray.

Strongly considering selling my PSP for cash for a DS and some other stuff. PSP, what a letdown.

Running joke in my house:

Niv: Knock Knock
Max (younger son): Who's There
Niv: Kat
Max: Kat who?
Niv: Katamari (proceeds to roll up Max in a large ball while he flails helplessly)

Seriously, what's the deal with the hype around Halo? Man.

Everyone that I asked that when the first game came out would always talk about the "great multiplayer innovations" like being able to connect XBoxes together and have... what, 32 people in a game? Or other shit like that. Everything Halo did had already been done (and much, much better) on PC. (And for console-only folks, I'd still rather play GoldenEye or Perfect Dark.)

Never got the expansion, because something about it still being 20 bucks doesn't sit right with me. Seems like a lot for an expansion to a dated (if still good) game.
Trust me. Its worth it. The game gets alot more intense in the higher difficulties.
Okay, I took your advice and got the expansion. You're absolutely right, it's STILL worth the money. Nice game.

"War never changes..."

Fallout and Planescape: Torment are the two greatest RPGs I've ever played.

As for other topics...

Space shooters: Independence War 2, Freespace 2

stealth-based: Thief: The Dark Project, MGS3: Snakeeater

Scariest: System Shock 2, Alien vs Predator (Marine missions)

And now, a bunch of games I don't feel like coming up with categories for:

Swat 3
Giants: Citizen Kabuto
Deus Ex
Arx Fatalis
Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War
Operation Flashpoint
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines
Grim Fandango (All classic LucasArts stuff is a given)
Quest for Glory

And lastly, an Honorable Mention to the greatest typing tutor ever made:

The Typing of the Dead
