Back in the day when I had a lot of extra cash and gear, I'd do Gearfights. You make up a title and some whacky rules, then give away a piece of gear to the winner. It is fun and maybe helps some of the poor college student types on SF get them some gear.

Gearfight gave us such classics as "Zombie Sneak Attack" and the very awesome "A Week Without Ears" fight.

actually, i think if my memory serves me correct (chairman kaga!), the "week without ears" side skirm was where you (blue) said you'd donate 10 bucks for each song submitted to buying dr. worm new drumheads.

so all you guys that think blue is such a bad man sit up and take notice.

Hmmm good idea. let me see how the auction goes and then rummage in the closet even deeper and see whats there. I have an evil folk/country challenge lurking that could be fun to see what you guys would do with :-D

wasn't there some 10 page hooha about how the pope caused AIDS? i think J$ and Hoblit featured prominently.

anyways, the points are, in order:

1) Leaf is retarded.
2) Blue is poor.
3) Stu should give us things.

I already have two leaching children sprung forth from my own loins who emotionally bribe me to give them free things like college educations/Mr Sparkles' etc. etc.

.....you my poor Songfight! children (apart from the racist, country-music-hating, mysoginists among you) shall all have my love and my music but no freebies ;-)

And THC have no fear this is an inventory rationalization not a get out of da bizness sale. If anything it always gives an opportunity to aquire more new things. It's been interesting as I have aquired things tried them and then refined my requirements.

Tried the Powercore for example and also the UAD-1. Prefer the latter's plugins and was concerend about the bandwidth eating abilities of the powercore overe firewire when my Audio interface is also firewire (mLan). Knew it was an easily resellable item and hence it could move on realtively smoothly...well that's the theory. The C3000B was a dual pack for $100 more than buying one single so should make deal out of that one...Bought SL3 before finding out I needed SX3 for the Automation with my Yamaha gear. Banjo I dont practice enough and its like anything if you ain't got the regular technique it just sounds crap. and so it goes on... Lot's of reasons why stuff

Slander! Don't confuse me with other gay english musicians. Although I don't deny I featured in that thread, I bowed out vaguely gracefully by about page 2 of 10. My argument was always "silence=death", and once I had said it once, it didn't bear repeating, as someone almost once sang.

EDIT: Also, Blue is a darling. And no-one knows he is gay. Not even his girlfriend. But seriously, more often than not he's on the mark. (although his love of psychedelic pedal-based studio-based wankery is a worrying development)
