my 12 favourite excuses that people have actually used, on me to try and explain why they can't come to work:

12. I didn't know I had to work. (while calling in to tell me why they aren't here....)
11. I'm sick. Yes, every second monday, I'm sick.
10. My girlfriend/mom/sister/kid has to go the hospital. (this is for a PRE ARRANGED APPOINTMENT. no, you can't arrange the day off ahead of time, you gotta screw me out of a worker for the day instead, while someone else WHO WANTS TO WORK is sittin at home. swift. )
9. My carpool forgot to pick me up. (some times this is valid...but not when your carpool driver is sitting right beside me, telling me how you didn't answer the door bell or come out side).
8. I had to shower. (this is kind of a favourite... I mean, we are a fuckin fishplant... why shower first thing, to the point of missing work?)
7. Grandma died. (except, I know your fucking grandma. Cant' wait til she really dies... man...that's gonna be fun. )
6. I got arrested. (you know, this is legit I SUPPOSE...but you're still an idiot.)
5. I was too stoned/drunk. Man... what do you say to that? Hilariously dumb.
4. I missed the ferry. Look... yeah, we're on an island...but missing the ferry makes it sound like it's the ferry's fault.. YOU SLEPT IN DIPSHIT.
3. The ferry left early. I like this one even better for two reasons. First, it NEVER happens, and two, if you try to catch the 6:40 am ferry AT 6:40, you are an idiot.
2. Man, I loved this one. This is gonna take up some space. Kid says to me (around 18 years old) "yes, I was told by three people that I had to work today, but I didn't believe them. " his name was posted on teh roster THREE TIMES, he left a message on my phone at 6:50 am saying " I have bloodtests so I can't make it too work (no bloodtests are available around here on a Saturday!) but teh best part was that another manager called him an hour later, and he actually said "I didn't know I had to work today". Right... so why the message?
1. And the BEST excuse ever... this kid was close to being turfed, but after this, I just couldn't do it...and he's turned out quite good after all..but here goes:

"When I got home last night, my dad told me I can't go to work tomorrow cause I've been subpoenaed by the court". I said..."there's no court on sundays".

long pause.

"well... my dad was pretty drunk last night...do you want to talk to him?"

uh...noooooo. You're a big boy, this isn't highschool!!!! Man...that ruled.

Risky Business soundtrack is good too. Music by Tangerine Dream.

Also 2001: A Space Odyssey. Awesome soundtrack. The part where "The Blue Danube Waltz" comes in is brilliant.

I was into 1000 Blank White Cards for a couple of weeks. I had gone to every 1kbwc site I could find. I made up a bunch of cards and showed them to my friends.

And then it got old within the first week. The creativity of the game is simply awesome but the actual gameplay is not.

As far as M:TG goes.. I have never played it have only watched others play. But I play Yu-Gi-Oh and enjoy it although I still don't know every rule and my deck is very limited.

I actually like making up my own card games. I have a collectable card game I made from cutting up posterboard called "Barnespa: The Card Game". I've gotten more play out of that than any other card game I've ever played besides maybe computer Solitare. :P

You and me should trade games. I've made a few card games that play fairly well, I think. I'd love to try yours.

If I had the motivation, I could easily create all the cards using any of the various M:TG templates that are online.

It's not a M:TG clone though. It's alot like Capcom vs SNK Card Fighters Clash. They were on the Neo Geo Pocket but I played them a couple years ago on Neo Geo Pocket emulator.

Same genre but simpler.
